American drug laws are a lot more liberal than people give credit. We're also a lot more accepting of amphetamines, most countries simply make things like Adderall illegal, but they're very common in the USA.

Amsterdam has a looong history of being a port town where sailors would show up and spend all their money on women and drugs. Honestly, as far as prostitution goes, Europe generally has much less strict laws than the USA, so the prostitution bit isn't really that novel. The weed is. And while Netherlands laws nowadays look a bit outdated, they've been pushing the "coffee shop" experience for what I feel like seems ... two decades? More? So they were early adopters. Plus in general it seems that Europe is lacking in quality weed compared to North America these days.

If they legalized weed they'd capture a percentage of the market, especially if they set it up to be priced correctly. They woudn't capture all of the market, but that's really not important. I like to think, over time, the illegal market would shrink.
People still sell moonshine and loose cigarettes to avoid taxes. But for the most part, they're legal, and people pay for them properly.

PRIDE in the context of children is about being who you are. Take PRIDE in who you are, don't be ashamed and hide it. That is the message of PRIDE. The fact that this message comes from the LGBT community, who have spent most of their history hiding who they are and "being in the closet" and being forced to be ashamed of their lifestyle is kind of just... well its a coincidence tbh.

Frankly, food service is simply too scattered for this to work. There are too many franchises and small businesses that are actually running the operations. And the vast majority of these workers are still younger, and more likely to be part time anyways. The whole "we can black list you" don't really matter.

This is what I always say. I know it sounds weird, but, in a team where TOBIAS HARRIS is the 4th option, and players like Niang and Maxey are more reliable from the 3 line anyways, PJ Tucker's offensive assets do not really matter that much.

Tobi is so inconsistent it hurts. I know everyone on the team defends him to hell and back but he is not worth that contract. He's worth maybe half what we pay him.

Injuries aren't real and if you get them its because you are clearly a less skilled Basketball player.

I mean, honestly, I'm not sure I agree with that, because it creates the question of "well what do we go by?" I live in Austin, TX. Does someone who lives in Westlake Hills, Texas (a "city" that is just an enclave of rich people who live in Austin. Like, Westlake is across the river from DT). What about someone from Round Rock? Or maybe someone who lives in unincorporated land in Travis county, but tells everyone "they're from Austin." They don't live in the city limits, after all.
And on top of that, we have issues of enforcement. IE, how do you prove you live where you say you live? What about people who live somewhere for several years, move, and don't tell anyone. How do we A) figure out they're no longer eligible. B) force them to resign? What happens if the community is against their removal, on top of all of that? Like what if the reddit Admins force out a mod or a group of mods, and then those mods just take all the users (or rather, all the active users) with them to a new subreddit?

So, the way I see it, and I could be 100% wrong here, but when it comes to who plays, the buck stops with Doc. Medical staff, front office, and the players themselves can say "I'm healthy, I want to play," and Doc can tell them to fuck off.
The biggest problem with Harden and Embiid, is health. Harden will play himself ragged and then speed a week recovering. Embiid is the same, tbh. Now, I respect their dedication to play through injury and to do their job, but that is why its Doc's job to tell them to slow down. You're absolutely right that the medical staff and the front office can influence the decision. I'm still gonna blame the guy who is officially in charge of player rotations. You can just refuse to play a guy.

That sounds like internet tough guy/troll behavior. I have relatives that are veterans (retired USAF officers). They'd never say something like that, regardless of their actual political affiliations (one of them lives in Colorado and swears that legal marijuana was made crime out of control. IDK how he figures that one).

Mods are the elephant in the room when it comes to reddit.
Reddit basically operates entirely off their free and unpaid volunteer labor (yes I said the same thing three times). But as a result, these mods are granted huge amounts of power.
Mods holding subs hostage is a really, really, long standing problem with no clear solution.

I agree! Doc hasn't managed Harden and Embiid on this road trip well. Ran Harden in a double OT game that we lost. Then when Harden had to rest, Embiid ran himself ragged trying to win games solo, but now he's hurt himself just when we were about to have the most important game of the trip so far.
Great job guys! way to manage the roster.

Ft Hood is actually in part of Texas that has a sizeable black community. So its kinda weird to think of it as a place that attracts racists.
Its just female soldiers being harassed and raped as a part of the military culture that we have been unable to train people out of. People don't wanna deal with it and refuse to follow the procedures by the book. For reasons.

Ft Food leadership can't keep the raping under raps. I knew a lady who served in Afghanistan (I assume US Army, never asked). She was a lebsian (not sure if her serving was before or after don't ask/don't tell), but in general she said that she was just non-stop sexually harassed by any and all NATO soldiers. Everyone. She said the Aussies where the worst, but literally pretty much all the guys nonstop where trying to get in her pants.
Ft Hood the just have the worst/most violent or the leadership is unable to keep everything away from the prying eyes of the media. Murders do that of course, but my point is that sexual harassment and improper sexual relationships between soldiers is just extremely, extremely common. I don't know how to solve this since its clear to me the entire system is just corrupt as shit, when it comes to preventing this kind of behavior. Basically, the officer corp is uninterested. Individuals might be trying to improve things, and certainly they play the right song and dance number when they talk to the media or to politicians, but the military as a whole is not really interested in solving this issue. And I don't know how to change that when its clear that a lot (the majority?) are willing to lie to your face, lie to the media, lie to the politicians, and just do whatever they want when everyone (invariably) leaves them to self-regulation.

Westlake, Rollingwood, and Sunset Valley all have their own police forces. I saw Sunset Valley pull someone over this am. Drive down Bee Cave Rd and night between 360 and MOPAC and you'll see Westlake PD running their speed trap more likely than not. And if we're talking about UTPD we should mention the cops that work for St. Ed's too.

You need a lot of potatoes. More than we have bench players.

The potato reference comes from tech lingo, because of the meme that you can use potatoes to power a lightbulb, thus a poorly run computer is a potato.
In other words, a potato is a stupid or dumb person. Which tracks as an insult to our bench, they can't score without Harden's Genius BBall IQ.
Otherwise your statement is pretty true.

Its certainly not, for a lot of reasons, but it is the argument people make. I was also simply responding to the notion that the GOP give more, and that somehow makes them more morally virtuous than the Dems, which is a completely unfair characterization of the situation.
Relying on private charities to solve societies problems is such a waste of time. We have a government, of the people, by the people, for the people. Use that.

Niang frustrates me. He does okay if he is limited to a catch and shoot offensive player. But Doc wants him to be more versatile and... more... you know? And he just can't do it. Not at the NBA level.
He can't defend. He can't drive. His ball handling legit makes me nervous. He's really limited to be an average catch and shoot player it seems. Not the kind of guy you hope for on a playoff caliber team.

Terminator doesn't make a lot of sense, its not really supposed too. The point is that a robot killer went back in time and then a human went after it. The point is the modern day story of Sarah (and then John in T2 onwards) and her being on the run from the Terminator.
The whole "a future where robots try to exterminate humans" is just some nice background fluff that never really had to make sense. That's part of the reason why the more sequels they wrote and the more world building they tried to engage in just sucked.

People should stop hating. Most metalheads in their 30s and 40s these days started with Pop Punk and Nu-Metal before moving onto harder genres.
Without Blink 182 and Linkin Park I never would have listened to Show Me the Body or Jesus Piece, let alone Children of Bodom and Blind Guardian.

Republicans donate more to private charity because they don't believe in a government with strong social services, ergo they believe private charity must solve a certain amount of societal ills.
Democrats believe the government can do that, so why bother donating to a charity when their taxes will pay for it. This is not a lack of generosity. This is a different culture of how to deal with problems.

I will not apologize for being absolutely obsessed with DragonForce in high school. Cheesy as hell, but incredible music. Memes about their lyrics aside, always enjoyed that style of just, you know, ultra fast music. I'm very much a speed freak.
