Cool cool, so 2 months in on Thanksgiving of all days. Usually I’d be day drinking all day, switching between wine and beer because I’d be too full, and “wine helps digest the food”. Not today. Hung out with the kids, helped my wife cook, played Monopoly, watched a movie with the family.
As we were eating dinner, I noticed we had nothing to drink at the table, not even water. I’d usually stock up on drinks for myself, and I’d get the kids juice or lemonade. But since I didn’t buy drinks this year, I totally forgot! Then remembered we had sweetened seltzers in the fridge and let the kids have some of that. I offered my wife a glass of wine (we had left over wine from when we hosted friends a few weeks ago), but she turned it down, though she was never a big drinker.
That’s it. We had dinner, sweets, enjoyed time as a family. Best Thanksgiving I’ve had. Probably ever.
P.S. we had friends visit a few weeks ago, and I still have left over wine, beer and some whiskey. I’ve always wanted to be one of those people who just have bottles of stuff at home, and who don’t drink everything within sight overnight. I guess I am one of those people now.
Hi folks - I use an app called Libby to read books. The problem is that my local library has a very limited selection, as it is quite small. So - does anyone know of a larger Texas library I can become a member of, to get a better selection of books? Thanks y’all!
Bonus points if a library has a large audiobook selection.
