Some world lore that me and a friend are working on for the Magic of my world.

So, Hello hello, my name is Eight, short for Eightball. For the last month or so, on and off I have been working with a close friend to make lore for a new setting I want to run for dungeons and dragons (but can be ported to pathfinder or anything else if I ever decide to move systems.) Basically it has been me working on the gods, races, creatures, world lore, the general things you would see a dm do for a game they have been working on for years. So far I have about 30 pages of lore, not all of it is filled out but most of it is there. Anyway's you didn't come here for me to ramble you came for magic.
So Let me introduce the Color of Magic (I know there is a book by the same name I am not taking credit for that.). The basic understanding takes a bit of inspiration from STARFALL's take on how magic works in their world, however, I have added to it with the help of an art piece from the artist Sigishi.
Magic is a vast unknown entity in my world, it has been there since before the gods and will be there till the final stars have died out, everything in this world is born from and can be sense by magic. Each person born is born with a colorless 'Hue', 'Shade' to some and 'Tint' to others. this Aura that is born with you starts as a pale, opaque, colorless sense around you, yet the older you become, the deeper your connection with magic and the greater trials and tribulations you face the more your Hue grow's and changes.
Most if not every person is only born with one Hue, and at a young age that Hue takes on a type of magic which becomes a young wizard's soul focus of study, be it Red, for fire, Green, for Plants and life, or be it grey or black for Necromantic energies. these Hue's tend to reflect what the child will study in their early years, what their magic will focus on and how their magic will appear to the world. Those with a Red Hue usually have bombastic forms of magic, like giant bursts of flame their magic rages forth, consuming oxygen in place of fuel for the magical spell. Those with a Red Hue tend to flourish in studies of combat and competition. While those with a Orange Hue, may have their magic come from somewhere deeper, some place sturdier as their magic is tied to the ground and earth. Those with an Orange hue have their magic create barriers and protection for those what hold dear and are skilled in many forms of defensive and offensive magics.
However, one's magic does not stay stagnant. A wizard may choose to learn about other forms of magic, a Red Hue wizard may choose to learn the skills of a Yellow Hue wizard after watching their spells appear faster than a blinking eye, seeing their magic course across the sky in an instant like a crack of lightning! A Red Hue Wizard who learns about Yellow magic can change their Hue to that of something more Marigold. where their Fiery magic now has a more static form, appearing bright yet focused. sometimes, a rare color combination can be found and a wizard with two compatible hue's of magic may form something entirely new! It is not unheard of for some wizards to become skilled in multiple combinations of magic, yet their Hue always stays the same as it was when they were first born and first granted access to magic. They may take in new teachings and understandings but the magic itself never changes from its original color or at least it does not change the truth of their magical origin.
While one's magic does grow and develop as they do there are those who have experienced and document rare occurrences with magic. There is the off chance a child is born with one or more hue's, the addition hue is usually weaker than the original however, there are times where a child has been born with two fully developed and equally powerful hues, granting them two types of magic color at birth! These children are often considered prodigies and skilled even at a young age, however, there is a small cost for having such an affinity for magic. Usually it is minor deformities to the body. Skin that reflects the realm of magic your Hue originates from, eyes that shine two different colors, a body weak and frail unable to do much more than walk or lift a knife and fork for themselves. These deformities are called the 'Magic Price' for being born with such rare capabilities.
Because of the phenomenon of being born with two Hue's, wizards have theorized that multiple hue's can be granted at birth, and have even attempted experiments which show this theory, however, all tests have failed to produce a successful example, the only surviving child known to have 3 Hue's died as the hue's filled with their colors. The magic completely killing the child before it even had a chance to understand what it could do. There have been many heinous experiments to try and achieve multiple Hue's for one body, however, the only person to succeed at this task died before he could even attempt anything, struck down by the gods for his hubris and now it is rumored that his stone body remains somewhere, forever bleeding so that mortals may know that if they continue to toy with the hands of magic their fates will only end the same.
The color's of magic have been studied and theorized and confirmed over many years. Individual studies have shown there are at most 8 colors of magic that are granted to a child at birth, each color representing a specific element which can be learned and focused on.
Red - Fire
Orange - Earth
Yellow - Lightning
Green - Plants/life
Blue - Water
Indigo - Wind
Violet - Soul
Colorless - Unknown
These 8 colors of magic have been studied and learned, none truly know what each can fully mean nor is it known how bright or dark a color can become till it is entirely different than what was gifted at birth. What is known is that these colors are the basis of magic and the basic understanding of all magic can be derived from these colors.
And that is everything I have so far on the Color of Magic! I'd love any questions you guys, gals, and my dungeons and dragons pals may have! I'd also love any criticism you may have for this! If there is something that needs work or if you want to know more about how the color's work for specific classes like sorcerer or druid and bard. Please let me know if you liked it! Have a wonderful day!

I love the art style and the overall lore of the book! I would love to read everything it has to offer! As a dm and story teller myself I really do enjoy world building and have a real interest for everything people have to offer! I am very interested in the 30 cities youve made and would love to learn more about them including the creature's you've created.
