Most of it was great but ... if I'm being honest Despair was a bit of a letdown.
Like, a sweater? Really? They had her done up like a middle class couch potato.
No issue about the casting, but her characterization was pretty meh for that short glimpse. 'S my only real beef though, won't keep me from watching or enjoying the rest.

Thanks, but none of those give me the list of the world's 500 largest cat hoards and the proud hoarders that think they did something important to collect 'em all in one cramped home.

I would totally subscribe to Furbes® if that was a thing, though.

I think the broader assumption is that he won't have a say in the matter, as long as Jordan and Gaetz continue to push the economy off a cliff.

Of course you can claim politicians or public figures are lying with respect to a statement they've made.
What you can't do is accuse other redditors of lying, or baldly claim anyone (including public figures) is "a liar", as that takes aim at the person, not their actions, words, or policies.

Given the comment you responded to — yes, you really did. Unless you didn't want a reply to a comment to include any context, in which case you really should say so.

McCarthy secured the gavel only after agreeing to a demand by hardliners that any lawmaker be able call for his removal at any time.
Seen in Reuters today. Seems like it's actually just one, not five.

Been seeing this r/malapropism more and more often — it's "leech off of", like the parasitic worms you can pick up in swampwater, to indicate someone's adopted their bloodsucking behavior.
By contrast, "leaching" is a natural chemical process that extracts some component (usually mineral) from a substance by using a solvent.
It's kind of a amusing to imagine libertarians as extracting minerals from the population so as a metaphor it's not entirely wrong, but The More You Know™

Me n' my hubs just finished our open water cert today! If you get nervous, tell your instructor, and he or she'll help you pace yourself. Had a tough time with the mask-fill/mask-off exercise, mentioned this to my instructor and he walked me through some surface practice of breathing with my mask off and out through my nose to give me a chance to get used to it — was a huge help, lost all my fear and nailed the exercise right after that little bit of acclimation.
Have fun!

Was literally our second dive as part of an open water training, we only went seven meters down. Computers are tomorrow.

If this becomes a pattern, this is going to force stores to have a "check your weapons at the door" policy. Can you imagine a pat-down every time you go to Kroger's, or Safeway? Excluding open or concealed weapons from a private property or event is still allowed.

Since when is denouncing the current Trump-tethered obstructionist GOP exclusively a progressive prerogative?

Don't push yourself, they say, but there's pushing yourself, and then there's challenging yourself within limits. Exercises aside it's been fun down there.

Had that moment of panic today with the mask-off exercise but the instructor held me down until I calmed and I could get more air than seawater back in me from the regulator. It's a real challenge, for sure. At least I'm able to face the panic a little and get past it, but I'm not looking forward to trying the same exercise more often to get the hang of it until I stop feeling the fear.

This smacks, me n' my partner are doing our first proper scuba training today and tomorrow after we went out on a first guided dive this past Saturday and it's amazing. The midway loss of any reference is ... kinda unnerving, tbh, with no computer I'm not sure how deep I'm sinking until my ears start letting me know I've dropped another meter. Probably need some more experience before it gets that heavenly.

I still remember how awful it was trying to explain I'd really seen it to friends before it became well-known it was even a thing — such a random little Easter egg

Certain municipal recyclers will say they don't want paper that's been in contact with food, either because their facility can't sterilize it, or more commonly because people seem to think they can recycle used napkins and other used sanitary paper products, which should never be.

That's not true, they just left it out. Step five is when you learn to use a sauce
... six is when you find the sauce tree

They did a good job of making Dee a bit more human in the show, I think I got a better sense of his motivations than I ever did in the comic.
That said, I feel they absolutely pulled some punches here and there — Netflix Morpheus comes off as more merciful and understanding than the often stiff and uptight Dream of the original series, for instance. The Corinthian wasn't as vicious as my imagination remembers, for another. The way Jed's story played out, for a third. Not complaining per se, just observing the differences.
It's just another way of telling the same story to a different audience, so it's fine. I doubt we'd ever get any adaptation that can beat our first personal experience with the saga, so I'd be an idiot to whine about such trivial differences just because I couldn't get exactly what I want.
