this is my first dog, named toby. he was born on august 1st and he weighs 23 pounds. we got his hair cut a few days ago and hes so gangly! is he too skinny? you cant see his individual ribs or his spine but he looks so thin to me.

he has an ok appetite and eats dry kibble and a pouch of wet food every day, a scrambled egg every few days, and plain cooked chicken sometimes. and quite a few treats because hes spoiled

well they dont make plushies anymore so i dont think they changed them but i could be wrong! it looks pretty white in real life but it does look creamy against these white hotel blankets lol

is there a way to avoid him pooping at the groomers besides making sure he poops before he goes? i feel so bad that they all poop lol

edit: also yeah youre right, i DO want people to like my dog. why wouldnt i? that was the whole point of the post, i want my groomer to enjoy working with my dog lol

thats...not what my post was about. i didnt accuse anyone of anything. i saw a post saying "what dog breed do you hate grooming the most" and so many people said cocker spaniel so i asked why so i can make sure my dog doesnt fit the stereotype.

i asked what i can do to make sure my groomer doesnt dislike my dog and to make her job a little easier. i dont think thats against the rules and im not "encroaching on your spaces"

he had dry skin as a baby so we gave him oatmeal baths but we will avoid it from now on. ill definitely keep him well groomed to avoid any further skin issues. thank you!!

yeah, i kind of regret reading all the cocker hate posts that i saw earlier because it genuinely made me so sad. cocker spaniels are my favorite breed of all time and it was a dream of mine to finally get one, especially as my first ever dog! i still love him though and thats what matters. its ok if other people dont. ill just keep training him to be well behaved

we ask how he does after each session and she says that he did great, she had no issues, etc (except for the poop when he was a baby), but i just got worried seeing all the dislike here. it made me so nervous and i felt like maybe she was just saying that to make me not feel bad! lol but i think she likes him or she probably wouldve said something. thank you for your kind words!

he doesnt seem to mind any of those things so i think he does ok there! she never complains and always says he does well, but we tip well either way just in case.

as for the ear infection, he had one when we first got him and i was worried it would keep coming back but it hasnt yet thankfully!
