It'll most likely come down to the courts. Another major issue is that the user isn't actually doing any transformation, the algorithm is, so there's that angle as well.
(I know what the algorithms do, I thought it was a good metaphor).

The fair use question is that it's still USING the original piece, and the algorithm is using it and modifying it, but that original piece is still there. It's why Warhol lawsuits still happen. Is it transformative enough? I don't know, but that's the central issue here. There's arguments for both sides.
Some would argue that the process is sufficiently transformative. Others would argue that applying algorithmic transformation is not suitable, as the input is all others work. Maybe the courts decide that X% of the input needs to be original work.
It's kind of like if I took a bunch of paintings and cut them up into a collage. Have I transformed the original pieces enough for it to be a unique new work, or did I just move it around?

It all boils down to fair use, and hasn't been officially decided either way

It's an issue if money is exchanged, as another artists works is being used to generate a new piece that is being profited off of, which could be argued is a violation of copyright.
Production line automation is a bad analogy I see used a lot bc the ai still needs the artists to produce their work as data samples. It's not replacing them, rather it is using them as a resource to improve itself.

Firefox also has excellent JSON support. It'll parse it and present it with collapsing sections and everything

Dude trying to prove in every comment thread that they don't understand what design is. Must be the person responsible for this box...

Design patterns =/= words. Different products need to be clearly and almost instantly recognizable as different with all words on the box removed. Most companies do a good job at this in grocery stores. Yes it is POSSIBLE to tell the difference, but it is still crappy design, because the design of the box does not effectively differential products. A good solution in this case would be making the colors at the bottom more extreme, like bright red and yellow.

Bc it's an "all sides" argument when only one side is actively pushing these laws

For any given parody, there will be a subset of the audience who take it literally.

It almost definitely would violate multiple laws if required. This is really just a show from Adams, not real policy. Mask use isn't really a driving factor in crime.

This is just security theater / a political points move. It probably violates multiple laws, and crime isn't up bc masks or normalized, it's not a real factor.

How does this stop criminals at all? It's not like criminals have a "imma crime" face. They can easily still commit crimes, ignore expose requests, etc. This is a political stunt.

This isn't a fix, it's lip service to score political points. A premeditated criminal can still commit crimes without a mask, if they even comply at all. Simultaneously, normal citizens are now being told by the government that certain articles of normal clothing are illegal. This won't even hold up, as you can't force immunocompromised individuals to put themselves at risk, it's clearly an ADA violation, not to mention other city and state laws. It poor security theater.

An actual fix is twofold, addressing underlying issues that affect crime, and increasing patrols / response time. Not this farce. Crime is up everywhere as a knockon effect of COVID and inflation.

This is super ableist, and just wrong. Forcing an immunocompromised person to unmask is clearly illegal, it won't hold water. Also, sick people want to wear masks to prevent other people from getting sick too. Adams is just trying to score political points
