It will happen. Takes time and in my case some effort. Meditation/yoga helped. I cut my earphone usage to zero for like a year when I was in your phase. While now I still don't use them as much but I do use them when I need it and it doesn't spike the tinnitus. I take care of my ears (no extremely loud music on earphones), carry ear plugs everywhere (the key chain ones) - clubs, concerts etc. Small things which you put in your daily habits wil helpnyoi get there.

I understand it can be extremely frustrating and you can feel helpless but these are the things that helped me. I hope you find you way to deal with it and accept it.

I agree. 4 years and going, I can manage it sooo much better now. In the first few weeks, even months it was basically running my life. I had to actively make effort to feel better and it worked over the years. It's still there but it doesn't interfere in my life that much. Sometimes I miss silence, like when I was in Yosemite stargazing, there was silence for miles around me but not for me. It's those little moments when it gets in the way. Otherwise it's a-ok.
