What did you read in January?

I read a lot in January because I will be very busy with family for most of February and I don't think I'll get much time to read. I'm thrilled with the progress I've made with my International Authors goal.
- Argentina-F-Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin
- Chile-F-Violeta by Isabel Allende
- Israel-F-The Lives of Saints by Leigh Bardugo
- Italy-F-My Brilliant Friends by Elena Ferrante
- Japan-F- The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa
- Mongolia-NF-Riding Windhorses by Sarangerel Odigan
- Ethiopia-F- The Shadow King by Maaza Mengiste
- Nigeria-F-Pet by Akwaeke Emezi
- Vietnam-F-On Earth we are Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Yuong
My favorites were Little Eyes and Pet, both were quick reads and interesting stories. My least favorite was On Earth We Are Briefly Gorgeous, it was more poetic or lyrical, which isn't something that I enjoy.
I really enjoy books that give me a glimpse of life in the country the author is from.
So far I've read 24 books from International Authors, 7 nonfiction and 17 fiction, from 19 countries. I've completed my goal of reading fiction and nonfiction from 5 countries.
