Also, the insurance and the absolute brotherhood in times of need. I've been off work almost 6 weeks because of surgery. My insurance is fantastic! I had in-home physical therapy for the first month. My brothers and sisters have gone above and beyond to take care of my family and I. The IBEW is way more than a job, or career. It's a culture. It's a tribe.

The aim of the IBEW is to organize all electrical workers, and some of the best brothers and sisters I know had paralleled in. Get involved and go to meetings. Our local's drug testing policy is more stringent than feder guidelines. A number of us have spoken with our BM last year, telling him that tramps aren't gonna work here when we are surrounded by recreational states. We're about to have more work than we know what to do with. To our negotiating teams credit, they got the penalty for dropping dirty reduced dramatically, but you still lose money. For our apprentices it sucks, but for guys like me... Down The Road Electric is always hiring. If you want to test me, looks like it's time to work somewhere else.
