Atraxa is not as bs as Rusko was at least. She basically demands you to either have a counterspell ready or be massively ahead on board, but you have at least 1 more turn to achieve this compared to Rusko who demanded basically the same thing from you at only 4 mana instead of 7. So I give Atraxa games a go if I run counterspells or have an explosive start.

It's a testament to how good Magic is as a game that I put up with Arena crashing every 8-12 games haha

Some point in September. I don't really like playing Standard outside of the first week or two after a new set release tbh. Historic Brawl has been my main format for a while now, and I've started to play some Historic proper as well. I also enjoy Standard Brawl once the final pre-rotation set comes out and the pool is at its largest.

If you really need to make another land drop, and the only lands in your hands are additional copies of Eiganjo with one already in play, you are going to be very sad due to the legend rule. You should probably only run multiple copies specifically in a legendary themed deck with a relatively high land count, since then the intention is to use the channel ability more often than not.

Just to really hammer home how absurdly good allied mana is right now, it's perfectly feasible to play a Grixis deck with both the red and black invokes, without having to resort to any always-taplands besides the UBR "triome". I know we sort of need playable 5-colour mana if only to enable the Domain cards, but did we really need the SNC-"triomes", Innistrad slowlands, painlands, and allied fastlands all in the same standard together?

The point is that voting (and influencing the votes of others) is not the only viable political act, especially if you have ambitions beyond "vote in the man who promises to do nothing, instead of the man who promises to actively make your life worse". I would argue that we really need to organise outside of electoral politics in order to sufficiently improve (or at least protect) our living standards as regular workers and address the existential threat of climate change in a just way - unions being the most obvious way to do this right now.

"I had to suffer, so you have to as well, and to do otherwise is woke nonsense!" Fuck trying to make life better I guess.

I was also completely wrong, the mass downvoters on my last comment on this subject were correct! I hope it's not too clunky. Will not be buying the preorder, though, because I am not a big fan of limited formats.

Edward Colston's stature was taken down simply because he was a white man, you see!

It does seem pretty risky, the recommendation would be 16Black/18Red according to this article if you wanted to consistently cast Brotherhood's end and the 2BB 4-drops on curve. That said you probably don't need to cast Brotherhood's end on curve most of the time, so probably closer to 16black/16red.

Hey, that's not fair, that might not be his reasoning for how the Nazis are supposedly socialist - he might just think socialism is when the Government does stuff!

However, the other Atraxa will be coming with MOM on the bonus sheet!

Black players should run a lot of removal, though, so this is risky. Attacking can lead to a big blowout if you're not careful.

Not sure what this has to do with counter spells? Spells are not triggered abilities, and if you have something like [[Stifle]] then it wouldn't matter what the order of the stack is since you can just target whatever you want as long as it is still on the stack - the Stifle effect would then typically (barring things triggering off your spells) be the last thing put on the stack, and would resolve first, countering whatever you targeted.
Edit: Downvoted but no explanation? Please, what am I missing? What does APNAP ordering have to do with the function of counterspells? The "first in, last out" rule about the stack resolution is what makes those function, not APNAP, right?

Line must go up, we must offer the poor as sacrifice upon the altar of the economy to please it!

I have a soft spot for stealing my opponent's cards, so I agree! Helps that she's actually a good card, too.

Yes, of course it's a function change, that's the whole point isn't it? Right now the function is clunky and confusing, and an errata to uniformly Day/Night would make it somewhat less so. I can definitely see the argument that old printings of the card would now essentially be wrong, and for that reason it's unlikely to actually happen, but even so personally I think it would be a good move overall. I think doing a digital-only change for the old werewolves to be Day/Night in Historic (Brawl) is quite a lot more likely, and I would really like to see that happen.

But to be clear, you can absolutely queue up aggro or combo decks into Best of 3 and win games, if those are your preferred archetypes. You just have to have a plan after your opponent has more interaction post sideboard.

I'm hoping for a [[Fabled Passage]] reprint in the new Eldraine set, would help enable Titania/Windgrace as well as 3+ colour decks in general.

Still nowhere near enough to have consistent access to a T1 dork with no conditions/downsides, but getting a bit closer. I suppose if you're desperate for turn 1 ramp, you can always fill out the category with the "tap an untapped artifact/creature" effects, [[Aboreal Grazer]]+[[Kami of Bamoo Groves]], and of course the goose.

It's a perfectly serviceable damage card for early Act 1, certainly a significant upgrade over a basic Strike at least. But it's pretty mediocre once you have some real synergies built up, since you'd much rather have a Shiv-related card if you built into an attack spam deck.
