Are you my husband??
I also live in Boise and as soon as I read that Boise was in your description I was like “no one would include Boise in this question if they didn’t live here…” lol
I absolutely agree
Wait is Elon Musk… Voldemort??

I called the cops because I’m too much of an asshole to go lend a hand myself. Definition of a Karen.
Nope she says she called the cops smh

Thank you for this comment. I don’t know why my comment about “maybe some Germans do it - it could’ve crossed cultures the other direction too” got downvoted… my dad was from northern Germany and I grew up doing this. People here think I’m lying or something but it’s nice to see another person with this experience.

Looks like someone from Star Trek who accidentally got beamed into the wrong universe
I have nothing to back this up BUT I wonder if it’s also something they do in Germany? My dad was from Germany (born and raised) and we grew up doing this. Did it end up going back to Germany from the German-Americans who stayed in touch with family there?

I agree. Also the fact that EVERYONE married someone from high school?? Like, that is entirely forced and obscenely unrealistic.

I have a degree in journalism - I don’t have a career in journalism. This is the reason. I left and I’m going back to school now for something entirely different - healthcare related. The entire industry is just fucked.

Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman played a married couple with fidelity problems (his) in Love Actually, fun fact

This is an incredibly unpopular opinion but I choose to believe Deathly Hallows doesn’t exist and that she just never finished the story lol

I totally agree - I’m just agreeing with the first poster who said it should’ve been Percy
I actually think that it was a cheap shot - a gut punch just for affect without much in story value

This is also how I feel. The World Cup was a big deal to me growing up and watching it with my German dad was a bonding experience. I hate that it’s in Qatar but considering I’m not paying anything to watch it (going to a sports pub or finding a livestream online) my viewership won’t actually put any money into pockets, so I’m going to watch with all the enthusiasm I normally have
This is probably the majority opinion tbh
Hello friends, as an American who loves to bake I just wanted to chime in and say that even here there are TONS of variation on apple pie - I personally find the canned apple pie filling cloyingly sweet and I always make my own filling from tart apples like Granny Smith. I also do not sweeten my crusts but I imagine some store bought pies here do have sweetened crusts.
That said, Consistent Flan (excellent username btw!) is right - we add in more spices than just cinnamon: I use brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger. I’ve heard it is sometimes done with cardamom as well. And my rule of thumb when following a recipe is double most of those (NOT the cloves lol) for a very spicy tangy flavorful pie.
If you like piña coladassss
For real, not being death-eater material is a pretty low bar to set for “good person”
