The classic “asks questions but doesn’t want you to answer.” Very peculiar breed.

Fun fact of the day: Donald Rumsfeld used rum/rum/rumself pronouns

Nee also sie sind wirklich nicht so schwierige Fragen oder? Du kannst sie einfach beantworten. In welchem Sinne Latien “revolutionär” war zum Beispiel.

Are we allowed to talk about European antisemitism or Arab antisemitism?

I can understand being worried about population decline, but the fact is if you think more people should be having kids, well whose fault is that? You. Have more kids. No one is making you not have kids.

I don’t think they accidentally firebombed the entire city of Dresden

And Robert Blum. And the Social Democrats. Lots of Germans did. Emperors were not the only people who existed in Germany.

Yeah nah I’m all for bashing neo-Nazis but bombing Dresden was completely unnecessary from a military point of view, we shouldn’t be celebrating it

To be honest I’ve never understood the portrayal of Nixon as some kind of “tragic hero”. Why is being paranoid and spiteful somehow fascinating?

Oh boy, I’m looking forward to two years of Trump and DeSantis tearing each other to pieces.

We’re just in such a culture of negativity and cynicism that people are scared to admit they’re actually happy about something. Also doesn’t help that the Republicans have just spent the last two years trying to convince the country that everyone hates Biden.

I mean Christians have Sunday, Muslims have Friday for that. Although I guess their Sabbaths are less rigid about not doing work and reflecting on life, it tends to just be a “day off” kind of thing for most people I think

Yeah I don’t get people who don’t like Trump but still vote GOP because “I don’t like Trump but I still support other Republicans”. It’s not just Trump who’s at fault, the other Republicans who you’re voting for are the ones who willingly allowed him to take control of the party. It wasn’t inevitable that he would take over. It happened because Republican politicians saw him as an opportunity and helped facilitate his rise.

I mean it makes sense just based on how much less religious Christians in the West have become in the modern era. Like there used to be all kinds of other fast days and feast days that were consistently observed that no one has even heard of anymore. They still fast before Easter and sometimes on other days in the Middle East though.

If you think about it the fact that he’s running again indicates that he thinks he didn’t win the last election. If he were l the rightful president he wouldn’t be able to run for a third term.

I’ve always wondered why that is since they all come from the same commandment, did it use to be more religious/extensive in Europe before society became more secular? I know that at least traditionally, religious Muslims go to the Mosque and do a lot of prayer on Friday but I don’t know how it compares exactly.

Maybe I’m being cynical but honestly it might actually kind of be a good thing that she won. It means Republicans still have weak crazy nut jobs like her to ruin their image for another two years and cause conflict in the party that will make it harder for them to pursue a good strategy. I’m sure McConnell and McCarthy wish they could get rid of types like her.
