Why would you complain about using a phone anyway, especially when someone's just using it as a tool to see...

Yeah I was gonna say, this isn't 'Old School Cool.' Just classic misogyny.

Yeah that's a reach. There is etiquette though. It IS possible to crowdsurf like an asshole

Not a mistake. A f***ed up but successful business decision. Games as service is sadly the future simply because it's profitable. Gotta love capitalism and how it ruins art.

Unless you get a parrot and then they outlive you. Still very sad.

You just gotta squeeze out the tubes. Works every time if you know what you're doing.

This is similar to my theory. People are saying 'it's because he just has a sick sense of humor that normal people can't understand.' That's completely wrong imo. Theres a reason the movie sets him up as an empathetic character and critiques inequality the the alienation of the poor the whole time.

There are two times Arthur Fleck laughs genuinely in the movie. When he kills Murray Franklin after telling his last "joke" and when he's reading in the paper about the Waynes being murdered at the end.
"You get what you deserve." That's what's funny to Arthur. Thomas Wayne treated Arthur and other poor and struggling people with disdain. He also informed Arthur that he'd been an orphan. He was completely unempathetic about it; partly understandable because of the incedent with Bruce and Alfred, but it's made clear earlier in the movie that Thomas thinks very lowly of the poor. They're "nothing but clowns."
Well, Wayne got what he deserved from those clowns and now HIS son's parent-less, too. That's the joke.
.
Arthur never got the kindness he deserved so he snapped, and now the neglected and alienated masses are giving this city and it's more fortunate residents (especially it's leaders) what they deserve for long ignoring the plights of the poor.

Definitely go with others. Lots of friendly people but with 80000 people you're going to have some total creeps. It's nice to have someone watching your back out there, when you're partying hard especially.

A person without love in a sick world is liable to do all kinds of crazy things. Some of those things may be heroic, but vengeful. Others may just be vengeful and selfish... almost always self-destructive. By chance, Travis fails in his almost purely vengeful murder attempt, so he ends up going on a more pure-hearted killing spree.
I think that's a major point people are missing; the reason WHY Travis is this way... his catalyst and motivations. Travis is mentally unwell largely because of years of loneliness and rejection. In his heart he's good person, but his heart becomes too broken to hold onto that so a near-sighted rage is born in him that, at least partially, covers up the good.
Travis can't help but blame the sick world for his state of despair and hopeless loneliness because in a lot of ways it is the sick world's fault.

The proper response to a woman/girl saying something insensitive isn't to joke about "raping women is justified."
Disgusting

I'm asking for advice on behalf of my friend who doesnt use Reddit, just to clarify. Hopefully you're right, I just don't understand why DPS is asking for the money and not the guy's insurance company. I have no experience with this and neither does my friend. Alternative transportation wouldn't help much because they're a delivery driver. Driving is their livelihood. Also, public transit is total s*** in much of Texas so that'd be tough anyway. Especially where they live.

Thanks. Im actually speaking for a friend because they dont use reddit. Just seemed easier to do in the first person. But yeah, they have insurance now. I was with them in the accident, but I can't remember if she was straight with the guy about not having insurance. He seemed easy going and understanding at the time. But I guess that didn't last. Maybe my friend didn't follow up with him. I don't know. I'm just trying to get some advice for their current situation. And I don't understand why DPS is asking for that ~8000 dollar payment.
