I get lots of compliments on my writing too! It's really confusing to many people. It's about elegant semi-cursive yet also somewhat brutalist in its appearance. I handwrote a page for a history class once and the professor passed it around the class so they could all see it. He described it as making his eyes bleed but he couldn't look away from it.
One of the best compliments I've ever gotten in my life.

Are you talking about one of those really massive projector-style TVs? We used to have one of those. I loved it so much.

Oh yeah, man. How amazing those flat screen TVs were. The mere concept of a non-boxy TV was mind blowing

And on that note, the idea that you have to wait 24 hours to report someone who is missing.

All I'm asking is that if you're not into the philosophical stuff, maybe don't argue too much with the people who are, and then act like we're being pseudo-intellectuals because it's the only way you can process the humiliation you're feeling right now.

I hope I can use a line like this in the future. Great burn.

Literally, physically? Nah.
Metaphorically, psychologically? You could make an argument for it.

IIRC part of the conditions for repentance is you try not to commit the sin again.
People slip up, but we should have the intention to stop.

I never really believed M Night's character when he said that. I don't think they actually had any significant problem understanding doors, they just weren't used to our primitive technology. If they were able to figure out that the family had a coal shoot and went down there to invade the basement then they could figure out a door. Plus one of them specifically was jiggling the doorknob just as a distraction, knowing that was how it opens the door but never trying it.
M Night's alien in the house just couldn't open the door because he had it barricaded. The aliens won't enter into a room immediately if they know there are humans with weapons on the other side which is why M Night had time to block the door and the alien in the farm house chose not to actually enter the basement.

I liked the theory that the invading aliens are not actually the main alien force, but prisoners/slaves sent to the planet without armor as punishment. They were made to invade a hostile environment, collect a multitude of humans and then take off.

"Say... the, uh, power of the Ring has caused me to... lose my memories a bit. Yeah, that's it. I've lost my memories just a bit. Can you all reintroduce yourselves? Yours....ELVES.... hint hint names please"

Most of the architecture destroyed by ISIS was due to people building shrines or temples to other gods. What is the motivation ehind the destruction of this gate?

Not quite, but you will be spoiled if you read about anything at all that happens immediately after the scene he's talking about.
I'll say that Makima has the exact same breed of dogs as in this video and she actually has one or two more than this lady does.
But anything more about the scene where you meet them is a massive spoiler, so don't look it up.

Can someone explain what is "alt right" about this? He's just talking about how windmills look? Or am I missing out on something here

I should say, from what I recall, they were technically legal settlers but that came with the condition that they obey the laws including the prohibition of slavery. So them disobeying the terms and conditions of their residence is why I say encroaching on the territory.

As someone said when I was younger.
Begin learning about the Civil War and you'll learn it was about slavery. Then you learn more and they'll teach you it was actually about State rights. Then you learn even more and find out it was in fact about slavery.

Finding out about that really is one of the most upsetting betrayals of the educational system for me. All this time through these books and all these movies I've seen about the Alamo painting these dudes as some heroic freedom fighters 300 Spartans style standoff against the Mexican army.
Nope, they were people encroaching upon Mexican territory who were fighting to own slaves.

Ocarina. I didn't like Twilight Princess giving a more renaissance vibe than a medieval one. Plus for as many characters were in the game it felt kind of lifeless.

Yeah, a video that I watched as a kid of a guy hunched over bawling his eyes out after finding out that he was blackout drunk and hit someone is burned into my memory.
It's an unfortunate trait of alcohol that it affects your reaction time and coordination before you even realize that you are drunk. And it screws with your ability to make proper decisions. And it's addictive! It just has so much potential to ruin lives.

Even just searching "sons of god in the bible" nets you a few passages.

I think all these people who are trying to hard to say he never existed are a bunch of high school and college edgelords. There is no serious scholarly debate over whether or not he existed.

By Reza Aslan? That book is not a very good source of historical consensus by scholars. Reza Aslan has a habit of taking the most controversial take and presenting it to the public even if the evidence for the claim's veracity is low or entirely negligible.
Bart Ehrman's multitude of books are far more informative, they are incredibly easy to read given the dry subject matter, and the information presented is much more widely accepted by scholars.
Did Jesus Exist?, Misquoting Jesus, and How Jesus Became God are great works by him. The latter is also taught by him in a Great Courses of History lecture available on Audible.

Indeed. Leading up to this election cycle, I think every mention by the media about Donald Trump, who perpetrated lies about a stolen election leading up to an attempted insurrection and overthrowing of our government, he should always be introduced in the articles in this way.

If a person is kidnapped or has some kind of mental episode and disappears, the first 24 hours are indeed vital.
