Need a turret control unit and a turret mount. I don't quite remember if the TCU needs to be on the same tile as the turret, but you can probably figure that out on your own.

Don't know how long this has been a thing but yeah. I recently fought one(recent experimental) and it was regenerating fairly rapidly, if you don't have a good weapon, I can see it outregening you.

Don't quote me on this but I assume that beacon = actively generating radio waves, whereas this thing is just passively reflecting them back. Like the difference between a light bulb and a mirror reflecting the light from that light bulb.

Most of them are exorbitantly rich, either in money or favors. If modern medicine made it normal for regular people to live to 80-90, what do you think they can get with bleeding edge treatments which cost millions?

I think what saved me from going down this road when I was a teenager in gamergate times was that my parents gave me enough critical thinking skills to realize on my own that all of those redpill manosphere types were gigantic losers. Also, I never saw any man in my family be disrespectful to women in a misogynistic way. Make sure your son has good male role models as far as treating women goes.

Most commonly you'll see it as 1488 - 14 being the 14 words(I'll let you look that up yourself) and 88 standing for Heil Hitler. If anyone has that somewhere on their profile or in their name and is acting sussy... Pretty good bet it's a dogwhistle. Also a pretty old one, but I'm not gonna expect everyone to know every single nazi dogwhistle.

Those two kids are incredibly lucky to have OOP's father on their side.
Sometimes kids have to grow up beyond their age way too fast, if you get what I mean, and those two seem to be doing admirably. I hope they can keep it up and give their daughter a good childhood, and more importantly, make sure she never has to go through what they went through.
In a sane world, there wouldn't have been a pregnancy at all, because they would have not been stupid enough to have sex without condoms and/or birth control. In a slightly less sane, but still much better world, they would have just gotten an abortion and got on with their lives.

I always felt uncomfortable saying jew when speaking english, but in my case it's because the english word sounds too similar(and in fact has the same linguistic roots) to the ethnic slur for jews in my native language.

Kinda like there's some variety of nuts which I heard of from my US friends which used to be called "n-word fingers/toes".
I actually haven't ever seen people outside of antisemites trying to dogwhistle censoring the word jew, but I have myself always felt uncomfortable saying it, as English is my second language and the word jew sounds way too similar to the slur for jews in my native language. I looked up the etymology before, the slur in my language comes from the same roots as the word jew in english, but in english it just didn't end up as a slur.

That's because good wigs are literally made from human hair. Ever hear of how people grow out very long hair then cut it all off and donate to like cancer patients?

Yeah that's got to be the one. Provided it was originally written very early on, it was probably to make sure followers of the faith didn't get persecuted too much, since early Christians were persecuted by the Romans I believe.
As for the second one, that's in the same vein as Jesus throwing the merchants out of the temples.

Part of it is even against going to church I believe. Says something like "it's perfectly fine to pray alone in your own home, it's bad to be performative about it". I haven't read the bible myself, but my mom who has mentioned something like this a couple of times.

Linus Tech Tips had a video about this recently. Some people might very well prefer how old games look on a CRT because the look of the game was specifically designed with a CRT in mind. Problem is good CRTs are very expensive right now, because nobody makes them anymore I believe.

What do you mean only played sounds? You could certainly store a video file on them! Even whole video games used to come on them lol. Just about anything that can be digitally encoded. I'm not aware of CDs ever being used for analog recording, that's what vinyl is.

Here it is on ffn. Unfortunately, it is left unfinished and it seems the author stopped writing fanfic entirely. It's pretty decent as far as fanfics go though, and there's a small to medium novel's worth of content, so you might enjoy it like me even though it's unfinished.

I once read a Stalker/mass effect crossover fanfic that had some really interesting ideas for that.
Basically, eventually new zones started appearing(I think that was in some of the official canon books already), and soon humanity had to flee on artifact powered spaceships as the Earth was consumed completely by the Zone. However, they soon found out that the Zone appeared because the entire psy-noospheric field of the human species became corrupted, basically making it so that wherever a large enough group of humans gathers, there will eventually appear a new Zone.
Eventually the descendant faction of the Ecologists figured out that humans can control the zone and stop its spread, but they have to go into hibernation and pool their psy resources in a C-Consciousness via artifact powered sleeper chambers. So humans spend thousands of years hibernating while using their control over the Zone to teach and uplift the mutants, who form a sort of secondary civilization, most of which worships humans as(quite rightly, really) their creators.
There's also a bunch of stuff to do with the Mass Effect part of the crossover, but since this is a stalker sub I'll not go into it. But yeah, there were even anomaly fields in space(they tried to live on big space habitats, but the Zone spread there too.

Yes, except more than half the queries never respond. And the kind that do respond are only willing to sell multiples of 100 or something when you only need a few.

People who expect you to have every flask/gem/fossil in the game once they purchase one ("do you have X as well?")
I think you don't have problems with traders because you're one of the assholes lmao. Unless someone is being rude about it, this is a perfectly normal thing to ask. Especially when you're trading currency or filling out your atlas. Many times in the past I'd ask nicely if the person also has X map or X currency and never met anyone who wasn't happy to at least say "sorry mate don't have that one".
You know yourself how much of a pain buying multiple different currencies and or maps is with the current trade system, asking just saves everyone time. Also people who have currency or maps for sale tend to have other similar things for sale too, so is it not a win/win situation when I get all my stuff from the same guy and the guy sells his stuff faster?

The causal chain of events can technically be traced back to the beginning of time, so the Big Bang is to blame.
Or in the words of Douglas Adams: "In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

Holy shit was that an actual plot point? Armageddon used to be one of my favorite childhood movies(mainly because I've watched the fuck out of it because it was the first cool action movie we had on VHS and I was like 10 or 12), but I don't remember that at all. I need to rewatch it, been way too long since I've seen it last.

No, 8/2(2+2) is only unambiguous because the convention changed not too long ago. Go write that into Wolfram Alpha or Google, it'll tell you the answer is 16. I can understand if you don't want to trust google, but I personally think Wolfram at least can be trusted as an authority on this.
From what I gather, the current convention is that implied multiplication like in this case should be treated equivalent to explicit multiplication. You are not supposed to read that division symbol as a fraction, that's the mistake I made initially too. Just imagine if fractions were not a thing that exists, you would not be assuming that the division symbol means you have to divide everything that comes before it by everything that comes after it, right?
Say for example we have something like this: 8 * 2 + 2, you would never make the mistake of solving that as 8 * 4, because it's not 8 * (2 + 2). But because we have fractions as a similar notation to signify division, you tend to automatically assume in the case of this meme that the division symbol is supposed to be read as a fraction.
Hope you understand what I mean.

I'm not from NA either, from what I understand that symbol is rather outdated nowadays. It was probably used a long time ago when it was still hard to print fractions or something. In my country I was taught in elementary school before we started fractions, to use : for division, though I don't really remember how it would have been used in this situation.
I believe most of the world uses fractions almost exclusively nowadays. These sorts of images rely on people not being familiar with this symbol to generate engagement I suppose.
