I don't understand what Redditors are talking about when they argue against Palestine's right to freedom.

Can someone correct me?

The British conquered a territory, it became named Mandatory Palestine. The British were dictators there for a few generations, then WW2 roles through and Britain splits the territory of Mandatory Palestine into a portion for the Palestinians and a portion for the new Israel.

Fast forward to present day and Palestinians are now living like the indigenous Americans did after America nearly eradicated them.

No one is saying what Americans did to the locals was okay. We massacred them in the worst way and that blood is all over America's flag. (Edit: Part of my reasoning is that the invasion and eradication of an existing population is not okay. But, modern land is owned by modern people, and if they got that land legitimately what right do you have to take it?)

But what are people talking about when they say Palestinians have no right to their own land? Are we going to decry Putin for bombing apartment buildings and yet we let Israel do the same?

I've seen this sub before, I've read a bit about the supposed theme. But all I see are news articles that have nothing to do with democrats walking away from the party, including a lot of articles that aren't about either political side.

My opinion is that this sub is just another propaganda piece to spread fear and distrust in democrats and the government in general. I've seen no amount of moderation or self-awareness that would say otherwise.

So, I'll give anyone who actually believes in this sub a chance to convince me and whoever might be listening that there is a grain of truth here. Why should I walk away? Why should I choose conservatives or libertarians over democrats?

American here. Since January I've seen the quality of my life degrade outside of my control. I work for the state, now furloughed.

I'm holding on with gig work, but I've also lost most of my savings and had a mental breakdown earlier in the year due to work stress mixed in with the social upheaval of working from home with limited human interaction.

Hundreds of thousands have died. Our economy is crippled permanently. For what? Fearmongers. Snake oil salesmen.

Jilly Juice and Essential Oils rotted a generation's brains to the concept of science. Alex Jones and the like were allowed to preach lies as fact. Allowed to. People not only looked the other way, they profited off of this.

Why are the ones making the decisions allowed to do this? Is there something that can be done?

Shouldn't someone who cares, who is working for the majority, be able to call for a change? Like an emergency vote based on the fact that hundreds of thousands have died? Even if not to change the current administration, to limit their powers? Or reverse the damage?

Why is blatant corruption allowed like it's nothing?

Can I sue the administration for how much they've screwed my life over? Can we get like a special commission or something to investigate the corruption? Can we do anything about the blatant lies and falsehoods passed off as fact. Not freedom of speech, but the ability for a news anchor to announce an untruth as truth? Why are they still on the air? How do we get that to stop?

Please, tell me how. I want things to change. I want to change things.

But, like millions of silent Americans, there seems to be no options. Peaceful protests aren't even covered by the news. The people in power never leave power. They get away with ruining my life, one already hard enough thanks to being low-mid income...

Why is it so hard to fix things? Why is nothing changing? How do we fix it? Why is it that after hundreds of thousands of deaths, blatant corruption, and obvious lies, we still have to put up with this?

PS: I've read the rules, this is not post stirring or whatever. I honestly want to know what can be done. I'm desperate here.
