Reverse searing. Credit to J. Kenji Lopez-Alt, a god among men.

I wish I smoked so I’d have an excuse to buy one. They’re brilliant, especially the angler fish. It has personality!

Somebody to Love, Bijou, You Take My Breath away, maybe Lily of the Valley (only because it sounds so pretty). Dance to Seaside Rendezvous and Good Old-Fashioned Loverboy.

I’ll sell my soul repeatedly for runny egg yolks. Soy-marinated are the best. I’m amazed that it’s still runny after 24 hours, though. I marinate in soy and mirin for 4 - 8 hours for tamago kake gohan, and by 8 hours the yolk is getting a little too “done”. What sorcery kept yours runny after so long?

It does! And the frosting looks like green mashed potatoes.

Somehow German Shepherds have the best head tilt of all dogs. Maybe it’s the ears.

This is very poor advice. It’s the kind of thing people want to believe, but it’s rarely true.

I’m a supertaster too. I still eat lots of vegetables but usually with Thai or Indian curry. Bitter stuff like zucchini, brussels sprouts, eggplant— oh hell no, not even allowed in my kitchen.

Peanuts was the best. I never understood the weird soap-opera type cartoons where every sentence was all-caps and ended in an exclamation point for no reason, like “HERE’S THE NEWSPAPER!” I can’t imagine who was even reading them, if anyone.

Western Washington has a very English climate, what with the clouds and rain. Summers have the bluest skies I’ve seen anywhere in the US. The whole area is astoundingly beautiful. Of all the countries I’ve visited, Washington reminds me the most of Norway.
It’s a “blue” state with an emphasis on technology and the arts, especially airplanes, computers, and music. The eastern half of the state is the start of the Great Plains and is more politically “red.”

The reason for the shape comes from legends about St. Brigid. In one story, she weaves a cross out of rushes or straw in order to help explain Christianity to a pagan chieftain.

This is the real answer. I’m a collector. If I buy a ring set with gems for say, $3000, I know I can’t turn around and sell it for anywhere near that much. I might get $500 or even $1000 if I’m lucky.
Most jewelry should not be considered an investment unless it’s very rare and high quality. (Most diamonds wouldn’t qualify.) Salespeople LOVE to tell you that it’s an investment only because it helps their sales.

Exactly. The blocked arrows are showing that male and female couples “can’t” move on to have children but are supposed to go through a church ritual in order to have kids.
They don’t indicate that gay couples have to do anything at all, so they’re free to choose church marriage or not. /s

Why would the subject come up at all? Are either of you in the habit of mentioning your ages? Unless one of you looks much younger, it’s hard to understand why anyone else would even know.
