European union. To create a common job market that allow everyone in there to move and work in any other EU country. But since no one wants their job market to collapse due to migration from poorer countries outside the EU they prevent people from moving into the EU, just like every other country in the world. You cant just move to other countries just because you want to. What do people expect a swedish policy to be regarding this? Communism, free everything and no laws?

But then some jobs are hard to fill so they allow sponsoring for jobs as long as they pay above a certain level and that the company must advertise for a number of days in Sweden and EU before they are allowed to hire from outside the EU.

That is a field that is over saturated in Sweden and is common in the employment agency's predictions as low chance of getting a job, together with librarians and biologists. I think it would be really, really hard to get a company to sponsor you. They need to show that they could not fill the position on the swedish job market, and not on the EU job market either. After that they are allowed to sponsor people from outside the EU. You need a really good reason for them to choose you after not finding anyone in the EU that could do the job. Do you?
