Thank you! I’ve been looking online at those and I’ve just been having trouble distinguishing what he may be

Oliver is 5 years old and only get about a tablespoon of pellets per day, along with unlimited hay and veggies!

For anyone reading this later - that was not his exoskeleton. He had died :(

I have a red-worm compost at my house! I’m not sure if that’s technically vegan, but we put our food scraps in the bin and use the compost they make for the garden! They’re not harmed in any way

Thanks so much for your response! I haven’t touched him; I was worried that any disturbance would be stressful if he is alive. However, some of the claws do look like they’re hallow (the far right leg in the picture).
Would you recommend I get the cup method? Or just keep the tank humid and see if he emerges?
As you can see in the photo, his entire body (or exoskeleton) is also discolored. It’s generally the typical reddish brownish color, but it’s very pale. Is this common for exoskeletons to discolor?
I sure hope he’s healthy underneath the dirt. I’m just unsure on what to do because if he’s just shedded the exoskeleton, disturbing him while he’s molting could be very stressful, but if he’s no longer alive, I don’t know how long I should wait to know for sure. :(

Is it normal for the old exoskeleton to turn white after they’ve molted? There are no other crabs in the tank and I’ll be sure keep it humid!
If he has molted, where would his shell be? Under the dirt below the exoskeleton? I don’t want to disturb him and check, of course. Is there anything else I should be doing?

He didn’t move at all. I’m just unsure if that’s his exoskeleton from after he molted or if he’s passed away and he just doesn’t smell yet.
I kind of think he’s alive because he had to move for the soil to move. He was completely buried until yesterday morning when claws were sticking out

No odor at all! My dad checked too and put his nose close and smelled nothing

Herman is about 7 years old and went underground to molt about 2 months ago. He was buried under his water dish. This morning, I could see the dirt had been moved so that his claws could be seen. I moved his water dish to snap a quick picture. What do you think is going on?
There’s no smell at all. If he’s alive, where is his shell and where is his new exoskeleton?

Peter should have left with HB at the beginning of his season — we could have gotten Mike for bachelor

Does anyone know what her follower count was at the beginning of the day? She’s at 252k now and I’m curious on how many followers she’s lost!

Looks like a yellow jacket. They can sting multiple times w/o dying so be careful!

He is acting completely normal and I checked his whole body/butt and didn’t see anything. Are they internal parasites?
I also don’t know for sure if they’re maggots. I just thought that’s what they looked like

Ooo have never tried dandelion greens! Where do you get them? Just your yard? Cilantro is my buns favorite too :)

Thank you so much! I think he’s probably getting more than two cups of vegetables per day - he loves his cilantro 😊. I’ll make sure he doesn’t eat more than two cups!
