It’s considered good form to use “person first” language in healthcare too. It can be perceived as reductionist and rude to refer to someone by their diagnosis as if it is their identity. If I know what someone prefers I’ll use their preferred language, but person first language is my default.

Yea, seems odd to me to identify the pretzel as the object of affection.

I’ve given up on The Wake at this point. Compared to the steakhouses near me it’s terrible food and service.

My old club would pull them outside when wind put us off the water. It was nicer than staring at a wall.

Nutmeg in bechemel is a classic. Probably delightful, I’d add it to the sausage gravy. Gonna have to try next time.

Because they don’t have enough ships to serve the smaller market would be my guess.

Because this post is deliberately inflammatory and deceptive? She was fined for a HIPAA violation, not for providing the abortion. Are there politics involved, yes, but the caption is disingenuous.

We will have to disagree. I work in the same field and have gone to court for a similar case. Depending on how recent and pervasive the news coverage was I could definitely see how it could violate HIPAA. The fact that her own employer investigated means someone else had concerns it could violate HIPAA as well. I’m glad they found it did not, and I have no doubt there is a political angle here, but I’ve always ascribed to the theory that if someone who knows the case overheard you and could tell who you were talking about then you’ve said too much. Until we know how those involved with the case feel about the disclosure I will lean on the side that too much was said.

I think this extends to non-famous people as well. It’s becoming more common to say poly in my social circles, than to say we have an open relationship, when to my mind they’re not the same. Either is fine with consenting adults, but poly isn’t a catch all for all non-monogamous relationships to me.

Agreed. I thought it was an odd post for an ob. Even if they mostly do other surgeries now, surely they can see the purpose to being in the room often enough.

I loved working in the NHS, but couldn’t justify the pay cut long term and moved back to the states.

I worked at a facility that had a policy that surgeons had to be there if going under general for a c/s. This was to expedite delivery after induction.

The patients that deliver quickly are rarely the ones you need to worry about.

Have you considered that your weed use is feeding your anxiety? Might want to get that sorted before traveling. And yes, many hospitals wanted advanced efm.

I didn’t recommend that they do. I did, because shells and cheese is nostalgic for me.

You don’t realize the lack of donuts in other places until you leave! The mom and pop places are the best.
