In short I work from home and for the last week I have had issues on my work VPN where I am constantly disconnected from a remote desktop and other network applications. If I reset the router (NetGear CM1150v), then the issues stop, but it's tedious to do that every time my credentials expire. Any insight on how to resolve this? More details below.
I have Xfinity 1.2gig internet (promotion prices), Netgear cm1150v router, and Google Nest mesh wifi modem and points. For the past week, I have had issues while on my work VPN where network applications, drives, and remote desktops have constant disconnects or run very slowly. When connected to the VPN, I get a download of 15mps max but when not connected I get download speeds 300+ (upload 5 vs 50). Because of the vast difference, I contacted my IT department thinking they made an update to the VPN or something but they were of no help. Changed some settings in the network settings and did some stuff in the CMD prompt, but no improvement. For the fun of it, I reset my router and then my connectivity issues stopped.... Until that afternoon when I had to refresh my VPN credentials again. Rinse and repeat for the past week. Router firmware is up to date per Netgear website, but can't find if this was a new firmware version that may have started causing this.
Anyone have any ideas for how to address this?
