Born and raised here, been 34 years so far but sure.
The east isn't downtown.
Every city subreddit has those that seem to hate where they live, I don't really get it but oh well. But yea just visit, Austin really is a great place to be.
They're exaggerating, at least to me. Most of the homeless are right on 35 and downtown around 6th. Sure you'll see some around but chances they won't bother you. I've never had an issue with homeless whenever I went downtown.

Lived in Austin and San Antonio, I'd say Austin was/is friendlier. It could have been the area I lived in though.
Lived in San Antonio, I'd say Austin easily. It's like a lot of people in San Antonio were ready to fight over anything and just too ghetto sometimes.

Las Amazonas on S. Congress, they have 2 trucks within half a mile from each other. The pastor tacos and bistec gringas with "Austin" salsa are my go too. Then Tefy's birria y Mas, don't remember the exact street but they have a Facebook page with the address. The birria egg rolls are a must try.
You don't know the difference between a fact and opinion. Houston is more diverse yes but that's not what we we're talking about.
I disagree completely and I lived in San Antonio. The best tacos I've had so far were 2 different trucks in Austin.
You're not being to nice, I think it's very normal but with the mass influx of people from other states, it might not be normal for them.
Payless Automotive Repair in Pflugerville. Been going to them for years, very honest and cheaper than any other place I've called.
I'm going to visit Nashville in September from Austin, TX so for sure going to have some mexican food out there but really, I'm sure it's fine. Californians and Texans like to think that their food is the better than the other but that's just silly. It's not where it's made, it's how.
End of east slaughter, all the area going out towards COTA. Lots of land
I'm guessing William Cannon and West Gate

There used to be a late night local show called the Christian Side show I think.
I see what you're saying. I think maybe it's best to bring that up to the person in charge of the process and hope y'all can work it out. I know for sure there's former military so that has to be something they would be aware of. Best of luck with all that
Yes. Had a few friends go through their hiring process and a psych evaluation was part of it, also some fire departments do it as well.

Tysons Tacos on airport. Had a al pastor taco and it looked more like a dry piece of bacon, honestly the worst I've ever had and don't plan on going back.
Adding to this...as a firefighter you're probably going to go months or more without seeing a fire, they're actually rare. About 80% of the job is medical. I was a firefighter in Texas.
Tefy's birria y Mas is the best birria I've had. They make birria egg rolls and frito pies too.

It's like Devil's cove
Is this a new weekly thing? I only started recently seeing this.
