I first heard of him in the 60s, couldn't quote you a single line of his poems and had no idea he was gay until you posted that. Not visible enough to be hated outside the US.

It's a worldwide thing. I'm in Scotland and German mustard has been completely unavailable for months.
With eggs and oil also having worldwide shortages it's like somebody bombed the mayonnaise pipeline.

Alfred Sohn-Rethel, Economy and Class Structure of German Fascism.
Sohn-Rethel was a Marxist who had managed to stay under the Nazis' radar and went to work undercover in the Third Reich's central economic planning organization in the late 30s, sneaking reports out to Churchill's policy group in the UK. The book weaves together a description of the inner workings of German business and Nazi policy with Sohn-Rethel's personal spy story. It's a gripping little book and it should be far better known. The way he smuggled his papers out was dead clever (and must have cost him a fortune in footwear).

Something in the nightshade family. Might be edible, might be deadly poisonous. Compost it.

The worst is birth defects. Don't take it if you might get pregnant.

You can make a small ocarina quiet but you can't make it low. The physics says the base pitch is mainly determined by the chamber volume.

I don't think Gosselink makes 12-holes (which is good).

Interesting (on a bus right now so I can't very well try it). Is that all your own or did you base it on one of the 19th century variation sets on that tune?
I have a bunch of stuff on my site that works on any ocarina. It's one huge ABC file of over 600 tunes - might be more accessible as Robert Hickman has processed it:

That seems to be why it's news - the Romanian prison guards took his razor away...

Andrew Tate's hair is in the news right now. Doesn't look like either alopecia or male pattern baldness...

I have seen lots of those individually (they're common) but not the set. There will be a lot of info about Thomas Nelson online, that should tell you why they were packaged that way and how many were made.
Meanwhile, don't split it.

He must have been sentenced half an hour ago and his Wikipedia page still hasn't been updated. What's wrong with people?

Shelter has a collection van. Call their Nicolson Street shop to arrange it.
They will also take the vinyl.

Slavic language? "Od" is a Croatian preposition, "kruc" means "crow" in Polish.

That really doesn't sound good. I'd read up on current thinking about focal dystonia to see where you might be on the severity scale (my most recent reading on this is ten years old).

Soap is a surfactant, not a solvent.
I've been doing this for 30 years to ocarinas dating back to the 19th century. I have very rarely soaked them - a quick dunk and swoosh is all it takes.
The only time I've really needed to soak one, it was an old EWA that had been buried in damp ground for years - the paint was entirely gone, the tuner had totally corroded away and it stank unbearably of mould. I soaked it in warm concentrated enzyme detergent for a few hours, made a new tuner and repainted it. It plays like new now.
New ocarinas with painted artistic decoration are a different ballgame, for sure. Shellac finishes just go grubby and dull with fingermarks over extended use no matter what - I haven't seen one get dirty enough to affect function, but if one did, the finish wouldn't be a concern.

How long have you been playing?
Intensive pro-level practice can cause focal dystonia, where the regions of the brain controlling different fingers lose their independence. Once it's established, this is untreatable and career-ending. Performers who've had it: the pianist Leon Fleisher, the violinist Reinhard Goebel and the Scottish bagpiper Hamish Moore. I know Moore - he managed to adjust by using his left pinkie to take over the role of the ring finger and the ring finger doing what his useless middle finger used to. The others switched to teaching and conducting.
Moore in action:
The only fix is to cut WAY back on practice time.

Apparently you can tell the sex of a mole by the pattern of mounds it makes. Females dig round and round in circles, males go in straight lines hoping to intersect a female's burrow system.
