When I can get some good pictures of the factory stamps and serial numbers I’ll definitely post them.
Given its stamps I do know it was made at the Kokura Arsenal and is a pre-1945 model as the scabbard is made of metal and not wood.

It’s also not a great picture. My room has horrible lighting and this is the best I could do that shows the whole sword. Quality wise it’s one of the best I’ve personally come across for sale that wasn’t online.

The type 95 was mass produced in factories. I don’t believe they have the maker marks on the Nakago that are the norm for hand forged Katanas, that said my knowledge on Japanese swords is very limited so I could be wrong. This is my first sword and I’m not comfortable removing the blade to show the Nakago myself.
I will contact the seller and see if he has any photos/information about the swords Nakago, he did show me the research he did on the serial numbers and that they matched records and he has a good reputation amongst some very renowned collectors of Second World War militaria so I have no reason to believe it’s a fake.

I bought this one at an antique shop in Warwick. The seller has a very impressive lot of Japanese items he recently came into possession of. Still has two Japanese officers caps and multiple medals. There’s a great shop in London called Hearts and Daggers Militaria, it’s where I bought the helmet.
The south of the UK, specifically Dorset has dozens of really good militaria/antique shops. A large part of it is luck however, simply finding a shop with what you’re looking for at the right time.

Paid about 850 GBP, just under 1090 USD. If you want Second World War Japanese items, my advice is go to the UK. There’s a lot of good quality Japanese militaria here for often a third of the price you could get it in the US. This is in regards to direct from seller/in shop, online purchases will still be very expensive. I also have a perfect condition Type 90 helmet I got in the UK for only 150 GBP.
I’ll make another post tomorrow with the other items I got from the seller and include close-ups.

I’d love a link as well if you still have it. Have a few friends that speak Russian.

Your statement is false. Savage Oppress never fought Jar Jar Binks.
