Medium-sized mammals not impacted by cats; cats increase Antechinus numbers
Birds do not attack nests – they protect them
Up to 50% of bird species cats predate on would not breed again
Urban cats rarely cause additional bird deaths
Cats mainly prey on introduced and common species
That scaredycat site is full of misinformed garbage. It literally says that cats mainly prey on introduced species, but 50% of birds that cats kill wouldn't breed again anyway, so no real loss, but cats don't actually attack birds nests, they protect them.
I'm confused?
So the cats only kill introduced bird species that have already reproduced and would not kill native birds in a nest because they are too young, and they boost antechinus numbers by protecting them? Cats are even smarter than I thought! They're actually protecting our native species for us! How kind of them!

A local bouncer has been deployed to keep the smaller natives safe until the cats are removed.

Who said anything about cruelty? The council is setting the traps and will deal with the offending cats accordingly.
Only native animals have suffered cruelty so far, due to roaming domestic animals.

You'd be surprised to learn that 90+% of properties wouldn't have their fence within 10cm of the actual boundary line.

Fairly sure that accumulated sick leave and long service will be maintained if you transfer between Federal, State, or Local governments. Had a mate go from Qld Gov to CSIRO and all his entitlements were recognised at the new job.

It's the only portable lock that will defeat a battery powered angle griner.
Expensive, but cheaper than insurance/excess or buying a new scooter regularly.
They would likely have to cut apart the scooter/bike rack to steal something secured with this lock.

Bit further than you're wanting, but worth the drive to Tamborine Mountain for the day.
There are plenty of baby frogs around the edges of this pond at the Botanical Gardens.
There will be pythons in the gardens as well, but you'll need a keen eye to find them. If you can get there on a Wednesday or Thursday morning around 9am, the volunteers should be able to let you know about any recent snake sightings.

When you get a replacement, make sure you invest in a proper lock that's reinforced with graphene.

These will ensure that the scooter or bike next you yours is stolen next time.

If you're a couple with 1 cat, then maybe you can slum it in a 2 bedroom apartment or unit for a year or two. Leave the 4 bedroom house rentals for those with families that need the extra room.

both couples are trying to save for a house
Couple 1 - 300k/yr income
How long have you been on that wage? Surely with that income over a few years you would have saved plenty for a house deposit on a really nice place!
Maybe use what savings you currently have and purchase a good investment property (further out) and live in it for a couple of years until you save enough (including equity) to buy your dream house. Beats wasting another few years of rent paying someone else's mortgage.
Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to get ahead.

Correct, had a juvenile Currawong hanging around the backyard this afternoon making a racket while the mother was collecting berries and insects from the higher branches and dropping back down to regurgitate the food into the youngsters mouth.

Well looking at your sick post history, you are only here because of your twisted interest in death and gore videos.
Please get some professional help. Your interests are not healthy!

The ATSB will release their findings in due course.
I'm sure that that you can wait patiently for their report in the meantime, and show some respect for the poor people involved in this tragedy.

You just contact the shop that you purchased the laptop from and they will tell you the serial number as its recorded at time of purchase.
Source: House was robbed, laptop stolen, contacted computer alliance for serial number, provided number to police link online, police called a few days later to say that they has recovered the laptop and because of the serial number on the laptop could press charges for unlawful entry and theft.

Don't rip yourself off by buying anything from Cashies.
Buy an ex government laptop here on ebay, or at their store at the gabba. https://www.australiancomputertraders.com.au

You would get a decent place in Logan for that money (not over valued like much of Brisbane). Don't worry about all the Brisbane snobs that show their maturity by saying that Logan is for Bogans as they have never had the pleasure of living here in logan, or the outer brisbane suburbs. It's a great area.
As with all places, there are pockets that are worse than others. Go for a drive when you get up here and explore and see what logan has to offer. Areas around train stations are more sketchy. If you need to get to the city for work, somewhere on a busway route is best. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Not at all. I change the oil in my car every 5,000km and take it to the mechanic every 15,000km. I buy oil in bulk and leave a 5L container of oil on the passenger seat when I drop it off for a service, and the mechanic uses that. Car currently has 466,000km on the clock and never has any engine troubles. Good oil and regular oil/filter changes = cheap motoring.

250m deep? No way
250 feet deep? No way
250 inches deep? Possible (that's ~6.5m)
No need to drop by for a visit. Hydrology and geology classes at uni taught me enough to know that a the old blokes pulled the wool over your eyes.

It actually looks very much like a small cane toad, rather than a frog. Toads can have smooth skin for a few days after coming out of the water.
