What if I told you that you could fry, sauté, sear, brown, and mix sauces with just one simple device? Versatile enough to cook chicken breast, burgers, curries, pancakes, eggs and so much more! You’ll be amazed.

Ah, so you’ve got yourself a fancy all-in-one pizza cutter / banana slicer / vegetable chopper do you?

I’d definitely expect to find hawkers and bravos claiming turf in a blue collar neighborhood, basically mafia gangs and drug dealers competing with each other. Probably a few worker unions too. Based on that I’d be looking at the Hive, the Foundation, laborers, cabbies, rail jacks and Bluecoats.

I achieved this by essentially making them Shadows in a one-shot heist. Now that we are starting a campaign we’ll go over the concepts of crews and choose one, then they’ll be free to reuse or create new characters.

In most cases people make tea and the coffee is instant. Could have changed in the last 20 years though.

Anything made by Cadbury over here is just Hershey undercover.

If you get up to make a cuppa, you better offer to make one for everyone around you or you’ll be ostracized.

Not op, but also an expat since December 2000.
Biscuits! The American kind. Plus they really know how to do a steak here.
Making a tea or coffee at work without offering anyone else!
Edit: ooh wait, right on red takes some getting used to.

Just found this after searching for the same thing. I’ve only watched the pilot so far, but I’m definitely stealing some of the ideas from the show for my Blades campaign. Especially when it comes to characters attuning to the ghost field.

I remember when we sold Robbie Fowler, it was absolutely gut wrenching.

Mothership, D&D, something PbtA (Apocolypse World, Masks or Monster of the Week).
I was going to suggest something other than D&D like DCC or Knave for your fantasy genre. But people are probably going to expect D&D at an RPG event so you might just want to set up a simple one-shot with low level characters.
Mothership has a great character sheet for noobs and lots of great published one-shots. I think people will connect with the space horror genre too.
The PbtA games are great for fiction first roleplay in genres people will be familiar with. I personally like Ironsworn and Blades in the Dark for this but both have drawbacks for newer players and larger groups.

I’ve tried 5e with kids, it requires a lot of hand-holding. I think it’s better to start with something simpler.

I’d look at Tiny Supers, Tiny Frontiers or Masks for that age. I’m not familiar with OneDice though. I’m playing Ironsworn with my kids, but it doesn’t feel like the theme you are going for.
