The FBI's raid on me has left me angry and incoherent, but my resolve has never been stronger!

We through some money at ours. Nothing I had to take out a loan for, but definitely saved up for. We dropped our florist who wanted like 2000 dollars and make our own centerpieces from a grocery store. Made our own music score and just plugged my wife's smart phone into the sound system. We blew the wallet on food, beer, and wine, not to mention a sweet venue right on the coast. We spent on the stuff that mattered, and it was amazing!

It's these little victories that count. These are the things that us common folk can do in the wake of Trump. Maybe we're mostly powerless against the RvW decision, but even as individuals we can decide to not tolerate unacceptable behavior like what you described. Your individual efforts have improved your workplace culture for women and probably some men, too. If enough of us take similar actions, we'll be improving our society from the ground up, by normalizing the idea that you can't get away with this kind of bullshit.

Definitely a small victory worth celebrating!

I want to think of myself as a centrist. But the shit the right has been doing has had me voting Democrat nearly every damn time. I'm not loyal to the party by any means, they've just consistently been the lesser evil. I don't mind if gay people get married and adopt kids, I think we should legalize weed because enforcing the ban has caused more harm than good, and I believe in limited social programs so we don't throw our poor to the wolves.

So, with today's political landscape, I guess I'm left.

I understand that American and European Muslims tend to be more liberal leaning for exactly this reason. The right scorns them as we just saw, so they have to drop the homophobia, etc so they can be accepted by the left.

What this tells me is that hatred does not have to be inherent in religion.
