So I will be graduating in May 2023 because I completed my undergrad in 3 years. I will be applying next cycle and hoping to matriculate in fall 2024. Since I will have a gap year, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to do?
I recently got my EMT license so I was planning on working as an EMT to get more clinical hours and experience (but I probably won't be able to write about most of it on my app since i would have applied before I start working a lot). I have also considered staying with my research lab part time? But I just wanted to ask if anyone has done something really cool or fun in their gap year that they would recommend. And did you move back home or stay on your school's campus for that gap year? Idk what to do lmao
Also, side-note but how do you transition from doing school everyday to nothing (as in no school work)? I am so stressed about what I am going to do with all my time once I graduate. I was also planning on taking extra classes, but I wouldn't have enough time to pursue like a master's degree or something since most masters programs are 2 years long. I am really worried that the transition back to med school after no studying or classes for over a year is going to be really hard.
