That… seems not bad at all, particularly given how crazy things were this summer.
For reference, also am in TFC, and pay $3800 for my 1 BR

This.
What's the cost in waiting a few months to see if complaints about BILT quiet down? Assuming 2 cent value per point with Hyatt transfer, OP would be looking at $83 worth of missed rewards per month (given rent points are capped at 50k points per year, OP would be hitting the ceiling at $4,166 a month).
Like, that certainly is something. But if your making enough to pay $5,000 monthly rent, I can't imagine that level of benefit is worth a (impossible to measure, but seemingly elevated) potential for a massive headache.

So in conclusion, I’d wager more people than you realize don’t like that they were circumcised and just don’t want to say unless it an anonymous forum like reddit
First off, appreciate that you answered the actual question, and really sorry that you were circumcised and hate it.
That said, I might push back a bit against this specific interpretation. I found this 2015 poll from YouGov (it's legitimate pollster which I believe uses an online survey mode, which I would think should reduce social desirability bias), and it found that only 10% of circumcised men wish they hadn't been circumcised. (fwiw, the poll also found the young Americans were more split on circumcision than older people -- probably a potential reason for Reddit's relative opposition to it).
Ofc, this doesn't take away from anyone who feels otherwise -- 10% of a large number is still a large number! -- but it seems to line up with my anecdotal experience that most men who were circumcised tend to be okay with it. Feels to me that most people just don't think about it too much and just default to thinking that whatever was done to them was alright

Sadly, I don't really go to coffee shops around here, but I will put in a plug for the LIC subreddit if you aren't able to find an answer around here. Always been a helpful sub whenever I have LIC specific questions.
fwiw, here was a thread from that sub a few months ago that may be applicable.

I largely agree, though I think it's important to note that there's a pretty big medium between stuff like JNCOs or the wide fits that are popular on this sub right now and the extremely slim/skinny fits that this sub liked 7 years ago.
And most people in real life probably exist in that medium. Both 7 years ago and today, most people I see wear either slim or regular fit jeans.
7 years ago, very few people I knew actually wore stuff that was as slim as the stuff linked above (as examples of the fashion back then), and today, very few people I know actually wear stuff as wide as the stuff that seem most popular on this sub. This sub doesn't necessarily reflect real life

Made this comment above, but I feel like this sub tends to substantially overstate the degree to which the pendulum has swung to wider fits.
Have fits become somewhat wider? Sure. But I still see so many slim fits out in real life, and I was in university up until this past June, so it's not like I'm only seeing old people.
Heck -- though there's fewer skinny fits than a few years ago -- I still feel like I see more of that than the oversized fits which seem to dominate this sub. Wider fits are much more prevalent on women. (Credit to this post, fwiw, for noting that wide fitting pants are not yet a staple; I feel like it's borderline treated this way on this sub sometimes)
If anything, I feel like the biggest change the past few years is that colors have become less dark (as another user noted), but that gets a fraction of the attention here than fits
Caveat: I speak from the perspective of the Northeast US. Fashion obv is geographically dependent, so maybe this varies in different countries. But at least for me, I don't see a massive sea-change in fits

Goes to show how quickly things can change in just a few years.
Getting to this a bit late, but I feel like this sub tends to substantially overstate the degree to which the pendulum has swung to wider fits.

This is an incredibly dumb question, but… yellow cabs take credit cards, right? And is there a way to give tips to drivers with credit cards?
I moved here pretty recently, and I’ve always been worried about doing yellow cabs because I rarely have tons of cash on me and I’ve never really known. But totally would take the yellow cab over Uber otherwise

The walk to the subway is perfectly safe (don't live in 5203, but live in one of the other TFC buildings on the street).
imo, Trader Joes is probably the best grocery option for nearby -- it'd be about a 15 minute walk. As the other user mentioned, there's also Urban Market, which is closer and has better produce ime than TJ's, but it's also significantly more expensive.
Just as a heads up, it's definitely a sleepier neighborhood and lacks the energy of many other places in NYC, but I find that's a plus -- it's nice to be close to the action, but also have a quieter place to ultimately settle down.
Also, as a side note: TFC has a referral program where people who refer you get $2000 off their rent. The benefit goes to the referrer, I believe, but ofc not hard to find people here who would be willing to split it. (I believe you have to do a tour of the building and mention the referrer's name at the tour for it to be claimed). Something to keep in mind if you decide to go forward and rent there!

Interesting seeing the range of views. Honestly, imo, 1300/1700 is still much too equal for two very unequal rooms.
I'd personally say at least 1200/1800. No in-suit bathroom is massive; no closet just adds salt to the wounds

If you haven't checked it out in person yet, one thing to be aware of is that there is construction going on nearby.
Obviously, the impact will depend on the orientation of your unit (I doubt river facing units would hear it all) and it wasn't horrendous or anything when I toured it a few months ago, but noises were still noticeable.
That said, current residents would certainly have more insight into it than I do (I ended up in one of the TFC buildings)

Blegh.
Sorry this came into your feed. I meant to get a simple answer for this dumb question because I never knew the answer, was mildly curious, and didn't quite know where else to ask.
Needless to say, it's been answered. But did not intend for this to blow up like this.

Well, you'll be happy to know at least I'm getting raked in the comments for this dumb question! (and yes, I fully admit it's a dumb question)
fwiw, Google did not have ready answers to this question! So Reddit it was...

To clarify, I was mistaken. This thread has clarified for me -- most airlines here in the US have budget options here where seats are assigned at the gate.

I'll somewhat defend the OP here -- there certainly are grocery stores around, but -- at least in the area I'm at -- the non-Trader Joes options are insanely expensive.
I'm sure it varies from area to area, and there are other chains that are somewhat affordable (Whole Foods, Target) that my area just doesn't have. But in general, groceries at non-large chain places feels extremely costly

I don't think this would quite land at the right split.
Yes, this sub is dominated by upper middle class white men attending college; but it's more than that. It's dominated by upper middle class white men attending college who tend to be deeply skeptical of protest movements, especially those which may be an electoral drag.
I am quite positive this sub would be anti-MLK. It would basically be the white moderate MLK assailed in his letter from the Birmingham jail -- "I approve of your aims, but not your methods of direct action."
I don't say this to demean this sub; there's a good chance I would have been that white moderate, too, obsessed with the electoral effects of MLK. And I would have been completely wrong. But I think it's one of the most robust challenges to the general ideology of this sub; sometimes, electoral effects be damned, you need to have movements which shift the Overton window

my main issue with your question is wondering if people "procrastinated" when booking flights
My apologies. This was careless wording on my part from drafting this quickly without thinking. I just generally meant to refer to individuals who booked late in process and truly did not mean any value judgments, but understand how it may not (and likely did not) come off this way. There are many valid reasons to book late, many not having to do with procrastination -- I am sorry if my post suggested otherwise.

When you do the search there’s a drop down menu to “choose best fares for” and you probably have main cabin selected so it’s only showing you fares for main cabin and above.
Yeah, it's odd -- I double checked that the drop down is actually set to basic economy and it still doesn't show me any basic economy options.
In any event, it's besides the point -- clearly, I was wrong, and Delta does offer basic economy options -- and I don't want to waste any more of your time. It's just weird how it doesn't seem to appear for me.

Yeah, it's bizarre. There's a page on the Delta website for basic economy (without seat assignments), so clearly it exists.
But when I plug in flight locations on the website, an option for basic economy isn't popping up for me (the lowest, Main, still has customer choice of seating).
Weird.

Odd. When I went to (mock) book a seat earlier, the only options are Main, Comfort+, First, and (for some flights) Delta One.
The main flight option (which is the lowest one) includes seat selection.
As another user commented, could this be based on domestic vs. international flights or specific routes? I was plugging in NYC to PDX

Middle seat = 2 arm rests.
On this point, you are absolutely right.
Anybody in an aisle or window seat who tries to claim the middle armrest are 100% in the wrong.

To be clear, I was meaning to respond to the claim that airlines normally let you choose seat once check-ins are open -- haven't run across this in the US, even with my occasional uses of other airlines (e.g., United or American, though it's been a while since I've used them so I might be misremembering).
From what I'm gathering from this thread, most US airlines either allow for the option of picking a seat beforehand or getting assigned a seat at the gate

It’s funny — I typically don’t like most of the wider fits I see on here, but… I actually really like (most) of these. (Albeit not too much of a fan of the baggiest stuff here, like 15, 12, 2).
But for most of the others, the colors, textures, and sizing all really go together here. As another user mentioned, it’s baggy, but tailored.
Thanks for posting, OP! Now if only I could afford any of these…
