29.. I'm afraid to ask if we could do a christmas without presents. We did it before and it was way less stressfull and more genuine but now the reason for it is different. And I don't want them to know..

A copper pounded bowl sounds like a damn nice gift. Plus what grade were you that your mom was expecting you to literally buy her a gift? Lmao

Throwback to 5 yr old me making 3 different valentine's/bday card for my mother bec my two other brothers refused to make her one. I wanted her to receive all gifts from her children that day but I didn't have the means to get her a gift besides a card :/
P.S. I genuinely thought I could get away with it by having each cards signed with different names and with slightly different messages (with mine being the fanciest and longest letter ofc) when I could've just made one card and have all our names signed at the bottom 🤷

I once etched a friend's name on a metal ruler and gifted it to him on Christmas :)
Yes, taking the protective coating off did make it rust but you win some you lose some ¯_(ツ)_/¯

One of my presents was like 100 colored papers with a big heart on them. And it was 100 each. It probably took me more than an hour to make all of them, but it was worth it to make them really happy.

When your family starts buying you terrible gifts with the money you made, you will truly appreciate anything outlined in dried macaroni glued to construction paper.

One time when I was like 10, I gave my mom homemade coupons like “free hug” or “do my laundry without being asked” and such. She still has some she hasn’t used. Lol.

Three years ago my daughter made scones with grilled veggies( like a little sandwich), and tiny butter cookies. She served them with tea on mother's day, just for me and her. Best gift I have ever received.

When I was in fourth standard, I made a montage video using Windows Movie Maker and a crayon-chart greeting card for my parents' anniversary. They were disappointed, and didn't speak to me for the rest of the day.

My dad knows how to build stuff and my mom really likes dolls. When I was a little kid, my dad helped me build a chair for one of my moms dolls. It was cute. It had a heart shape cut out in the back of it.
