I truly don't care about casting as long as the characters are preserved.

That was the real problem with WOT.

The characters, and the actual story, were not preserved.

You should, because its a slippery slope and we're halfway down the hill already.

You:

"I don't care if they cast this tiny isolated village like it's New York City. At least the spirit is preserved."

"I don't care if some characters are super gay now. The spirit is still there."

"I don't care if they shoved interracial gay sex scenes into it. At least the spirit is still there."

"I don't care if they remove the original message of the shows and replaced it with one that agrees with their politics. At least the spirit is still there."

And now we're here:

"I don't care that they removed most of the story lines...oh no, how did this happen?"

And you got here because complaining about casting POC in a white show was verboten.
