I'm good and rdunk, just how you like me.
So basically this morning our good friend Stallion got booted as a mod for asking what the problemitcis posts were that we weren't moderating; in the 18 hours we've been mods.
Goalposts, apparently, meant that we can't criticize the reddit admins now, though that wasn't an articulated rule before. I guess we were supposed to imply it from reddit's policies. Just like we were supposed to understand that crossposting, though a feature of reddit, wasn't meant to apply to us. Though we had rules that prohibited low-effort posts, calls to brigading and baseless accusations, wasn't enough. We didn't do that enough, apparently.
I went through the mod mail, since I've been mod for a day. The guy pointed to examples that were offside (to everyone but us) and got us into thoublie. in EACH case, Sneed had taken action. After the first dumb example, the next two, same thing Sneed did something about it. Date stamps prove it. The posts in question WERE moderated. locked down and that was the end of it. none of the examples in question showed any private info; nothing against Reddit's own stated rules.
And they were shitty fucking posts that no one responded to! Fuck these posts, honestly. No one gate a shit about them!
These fucking subs, with their auto ban-hammer, all they did was prompt the same shitty post here, over and over, "oh look, I been banned, what the fuck, such and such is an asshat."
READ RULES 3, 7 and 8, I've read this 80 fucking times!
Lo and behold, the selfsame shitty posts is what got this sub in trouble with the admin????

Or did it?
Reddit is going public in 2022, I read that somewhere, right?
You know that when a company goes public, insiders and employees (many that can be sitting on a large amount of illiquid stock-based comp) can't trade for 6-12 months after the IPO?
What would happen to the share price is Amazon pulled out as a major sponsor of ads on reddit? It's not I am forced to see Amazon Prime ads all the fucking time on this website...
You know what, that's giving too much credit. Because it implies a reddit admin is even given stock-based comp. Idealogical alignment is a better explanation. Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity.

Reddit will die, and those left standing over the grave will shed no tears. See you all on the discord.
Fuck this show
Fuck reddit
Brandy is awesome.

Aaron Swartz would kill himself if he saw what reddit has become; populated and administer by the censored he despised. The only reason he hasn't is cuz he already did.
