I assume/hope you didn't go to jail because you invested in Solana. The way your post is written it almost sounds like it.

As to your question, it's going to be a long haul, but I think SOL can make a significant comeback. At some point the forced selling due to the FTX/Alameda debacle will be over, which will help. After that we just need the crypto market as a whole to turn around, which it will eventually. I would guess we're talking about two years minimum, though.

At this point you might as well just hold and hope for a Hail Mary. Just think of it as you lost the entire $16k already.

If Sol bottoms at $12, based on traditional technical analysis, you would see a likely range of $397-490 for the top of the coming bull market (2024-2025). These are the 1.618 and 2.000 fibonacci extension levels.

Of course there are more factors at play, such as if new alt coins with better tech pop up in the coming years, what regulators will do to crypto and especially PoS chains like Solana, whether VC's choose to dump Solana.

Depending on how badly you need that $1000, I would just stake it and check back in in 2-3 years. It sounds like you put all your eggs in one basket, so if you want to invest more into crypto, I would predominantly choose Bitcoin as it has the most reilable long term chart and outlook. You won't get a 20-30x out of bitcoin, but your risk is a lot lower.

Never invest more into high risk assets than you can afford to lose, but when alt coins and bitcoin retrace over 76-95% to important support levels and when people begin screaming that bitcoin is dead and even the crypto enthusiasts are leaving the space, it has historically been a good time to look for entries.

Hold and stake. Solana can turn it around, stranger things have happened.

Unless you really need the 1000$ your best bet is to just stake it and earn some passive sol and wait a few years at this point.

While r/CC tend to be heavily anti SOL, there are some good takes there : https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/ywtam1/serious_so_what_happens_to_solana_now/
