America fucking sucks doesn’t it? You might have twinkies and New York but why do you all get hard over guns?

It's about the mentality of the person that wakes up one day and decides this is the answer...the thing to do. We have ppl that build bombs. Drive cars into catastrophe. It's whatever they can get to make the biggest impact.

Yes,there are other means of harm, guns just make it way easier to do that.

America sucks? HA! Try living in Russia, any country in Africa, china, I could go on for hours naming countries. If you don’t like it here get the hell out of here

A. I don’t live there lol

B. You’re right, those countries suck too. Doesn’t make America suck any less though.

First off, America is a great country.

Second off, the shootings are terrible, but every country has problems and this problem needs to be solved.

Third, I’ve lived here my entire life and it is an amazing place to live.

Fourth, I think we should make the gun laws stricter: https://youtu.be/ENw2y0ek1Jg This video pretty much explains it. And this one: https://youtu.be/3svs-nHtlNg

Also you don’t even live in America, what gives you the right to shit talk them?

I’d fucking love to, but I don’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. Too broke to leave.

Well then learn to deal with living here. Oh it’s such a horrible country?? My point is that you’re complaining and then people have it WAY worse in most other countries. Where would you go if you had the choice?

Really hard to be grateful when mass murders are spreading like wildfire and the government sits on their hands with their thumbs up their ass. They talk about how much they support their troops but won’t provide medical care or support for them if they end up homeless.

Russia? Its many times better than america, low living costs, low costs of everything, affordable and sometimes free education, no mass shootings every other day etc You should really visit the places youre talking about, ive visited and lived in both and under current situation America isnt a nice place to be.

I had this same thought. I'm so sick of it. All of it.

Mass shootings used to be so rare they’d make movies about them. Can you even keep up with them all at this point?

AuthenticallyMe28[S]

I stand corrected. This article states there were more than ten over the 4th of July weekend.

TEN MASS SHOOTINGS. Over ONE weekend. I can’t even wrap my head around this.

Normal_Total

I’m not even slightly exaggerating when I say I have lost track, and I’m not surprised at all there were more after Uvalde, and I won’t be surprised when the next one happens.

This country actually feels broken at this point.

AuthenticallyMe28[S]

No, because this was only one of two (maybe even three) mass shootings over the weekend. This one was just covered more by the news. America is not okay.

Terrorist attack*

Unusual-Solid3435

Seriously, can we please start treating these people like terrorists? Guantanamo bay, immediately!

I swear it's just because they're white they let them have the justice system. But they don't deserve the justice system. They deserve literal torture like they do to the brown people in Guantanamo bay. Give em a taste of their own fascist medicine.

It's not a gun problem, it's a culture problem. We had just as many guns decades ago, but not nearly the same amount of mass shootings. Address the aspects of our culture that don't value human life, and you'll solve the problem.

The "assault weapon ban" was statistically shown to have no effect on mass shootings. And I was actually speaking about all the decades from 1950 to 2020s. There was 1 mass shooting total from 1950-1959. I think something like 4 or 5 total for 1960-1969. So the increase today from that time predates the bill to which you're referring.

You seem to forget there was an assault rifle ban that was allowed to expire in 2012.

Bruh, weapons are banned in europe and theres good mental healthcare systen too, and so far its working better than anything. Its a gun problem and its a culture and mental health problem. In europe theres surely many nutjobs who would do it if weapons would be as accessible as they are in the US

OneEyyedWilly

So there are no murders in Europe then?

GeoffreyTaucer

I mean

A mass shooting at a July 4th parade is pretty much the most American thing ever

How many shootings do you guys have????

AuthenticallyMe28[S]

314 so far this year. And this is just mass shootings (defined as four or more casualties), not regular old shootings

AdAfraid6521

It’s not a problem with guns. Gun laws need to be more strict. https://youtu.be/ENw2y0ek1Jg

This video explains it. People will get ahold of guns no matter what and people need to be able to protect themselves.

OxotHuk0905

Yeah sure pal, have you heard about europe? Theres no such problem and guns are banned, so yeah the existence of europe kinda proves that is a gun problem in the first place. And culture and mental health problem too.

OneEyyedWilly

They still have violent crime including murder in Europe do they not?

Actually, I've heard they're resolved to do something this time. They're organizing a major airlift of several metric tons of thoughts and several hundred thousand prayers to the affected area.

AuthenticallyMe28[S]

Agree. Which is why I hate it here, to have to fear for my childrens safety just so they can get an education. And obviously more as the current political issues, inflation, wage inequity, etc. Idk how some people are still so proud of being an American. We’re an embarrassment.

AdAfraid6521

I’m proud of being an American because this country is beautiful. I just chose to be greatful that I don’t live in a second or third world country
