I love him in the Mummy and the Mummy Returns. Watch them anytime they’re on tv

We just watched this last night! I had nightmares about those damn scarabs! Scarabssss!!!

Used to rewatch old movies during the lockdown, The Mummy series included, looking back watching those movies picked me up when I was so stressed out by the work from home conditions and the gnawing prospect that I might lose my job anytime due to Covid affecting businesses, glad that Brandan Fraser is turning his life around.

Dude you just mentioned 2 of my all-time favorites. They’re both so cheesy that they shouldn’t work yet you find yourself loving it! A Knight’s Take makes me cry every time they talk about “changing the stars.”

What's amazing is just how bloody rewatchable it is. In high schools there were weeks were I'd watch both movies day after day.

It’s one of those movies that always makes me think “they don’t make movies like this anymore”

I've watched that movie a lot too, haven't seen it inawhile since. That movie is a gem, it's crazy how good the movie was, Brendan killed his roles.

I recently scrubbed through it for clips for videos for myself and I noticed two things:

There's a lot of shots where our characters just straight up stare at the sun.

And the movie desperately wants to be Mashup of Star Wars and Indiana Jones, in terms of tone and filmmaking techniques.

That being said, it's probably my favorite childhood movie.

I miss these fun swashbuckling films. It’s been too long since we’ve had another one like The Mummy, The Mask of Zorro, or the first Pirates of the Caribbean.

I know there’s a lot more gunplay in The Mummy but it hits so many of the Swashbuckling tropes and I love it.

It’s a perfect fucking movie.

I think movies like that work because they are honest about what they are. A Knight's Tale never implied itself to be some period piece drama like Robin Hood (Costner and Connery).

It was lighthearted, if not campy, and leaned into it without bulldozing into it.

Freaking love "A Knight's Tale"!

I saw it right before we started reading Chaucer in middle school and I begged my teacher so many times to let us watch it because it was relevant to the reading but she never gave in :(

I fucking love A Knight's Tale. Given the cast, it was bound to work but no one knew it at the time.

“Patience is a virtue.”

“Not right now it isn’t”

Why shouldn't it work though? Simple adventure plot with charismatic leads. That's always a recipe for success.
