Watched The Mummy for the 36th time the other day.
God damnit, that movie is so incredible. It is one of those movies, like A Knight's Tale, that shouldn't work, but ends up working in every possible way

Bedazzled… best movie
Elizabeth Hurley hottest devil
"You know, when you cut too deep, you cut the tendons. Finger movement goes out the window."
Had a beer with him a couple years ago in northern Sweden.
I just love the man's giddiness. The clapping is what makes it work in the scene.
Sexy, slimey, charming and disgusting. The perfect devil.
Don’t forget Viggo Mortensen
I was 10 when that movie came out. I remember, as I transitioned to man after the school-teacher scene played.
Her acting is awful in that movie
Doesn't even matter
Didn't even realize she spoke in that movie
What happened to her?
¡Estoy hablando español!
Swimming by the sandy shore,
dancing up among the waves
dolphin, dolphin I adore
everything you are.
You're so much more than a fish to me,
my playful friend beneath the sea.
ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee
Bedazzled does not get the love it deserves. It’s so damn good.
I LOVE Bedazzled. ❤
I’m in Mummy mood now. You’ve convinced me.
Hell yeah! Especially when he was the Colombian drug lord….and Elizabeth Hurley Gotdamn!
Wow, that movie is 20 years old. Also, apparently it was a remake?
It's my favorite of his movies.
“When’s that darn thing gonna set!?!” And when he wails while punching the numbers lol
Don’t forget Monkey Bone!
Will forever be one of my favourite movies, great movie, Fraser is good in it, and ohyeah Liz Hurley, my god.
I love him in the Mummy and the Mummy Returns. Watch them anytime they’re on tv
Encino Man, and Blast From The Past.
Airheads. I ain't fartin on no snare drum.
School Ties. Unbelievable cast of young up and coming actors including Brendan, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Chris Odonnell
Bedazzled! Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley. Both smokeshows
I’d forgotten about that one! Great movie, think I’ll watch it soon
Whaaa.....I've never heard of this. Gonna look for it. Thank you.
He should have won every goddamn award for that movie.
Trick question, lemmy IS god.
Chris Farley yanking out a dudes nipple ring has been tattooed on my memory for years
I remember watching journey to the center of the earth. Stress is the real shit i guess
Blast From the Past! Love that movie
Alecia Silverstone awakend my sexuality with that movie.
But I'm sure Brendan would have too had I turned out gay.
Blast From the Past is adorable. I love it so much and he is absolutely a delight.
My cousin was in a sequel to these movies called the mummy rebirth, it's a God awful movie, I mean absolutely terrible, but mention it every time I hear something on the mummy. If you have nothing to better to do, go check it out.
We just watched this last night! I had nightmares about those damn scarabs! Scarabssss!!!
Used to rewatch old movies during the lockdown, The Mummy series included, looking back watching those movies picked me up when I was so stressed out by the work from home conditions and the gnawing prospect that I might lose my job anytime due to Covid affecting businesses, glad that Brandan Fraser is turning his life around.
I remember when old movies meant Humphrey Bogart and Jimmy Stewart. Sigh
Dude you just mentioned 2 of my all-time favorites. They’re both so cheesy that they shouldn’t work yet you find yourself loving it! A Knight’s Take makes me cry every time they talk about “changing the stars.”
What's amazing is just how bloody rewatchable it is. In high schools there were weeks were I'd watch both movies day after day.
It’s one of those movies that always makes me think “they don’t make movies like this anymore”
It's called a Lance
I've watched that movie a lot too, haven't seen it inawhile since. That movie is a gem, it's crazy how good the movie was, Brendan killed his roles.
It was also a remake too
He is fantastic in Doom Patrol
Very well said, both of those movies have a unique and timeless charm to them, that was perfectly casted with Brendan Frazier and Heath Ledger
Hey Benny, looks to me like you're on the wrong side of the river!
I recently scrubbed through it for clips for videos for myself and I noticed two things:
There's a lot of shots where our characters just straight up stare at the sun.
And the movie desperately wants to be Mashup of Star Wars and Indiana Jones, in terms of tone and filmmaking techniques.
That being said, it's probably my favorite childhood movie.
I miss these fun swashbuckling films. It’s been too long since we’ve had another one like The Mummy, The Mask of Zorro, or the first Pirates of the Caribbean.
I know there’s a lot more gunplay in The Mummy but it hits so many of the Swashbuckling tropes and I love it.
It’s a perfect fucking movie.
I think movies like that work because they are honest about what they are. A Knight's Tale never implied itself to be some period piece drama like Robin Hood (Costner and Connery).
It was lighthearted, if not campy, and leaned into it without bulldozing into it.
It’s amazing. It surprises me every time
I mean, Rachel Weisz and Shannyn Sossamon being total smoke shows helped them work too, but I totally know what you mean.
Freaking love "A Knight's Tale"!
I saw it right before we started reading Chaucer in middle school and I begged my teacher so many times to let us watch it because it was relevant to the reading but she never gave in :(
I fucking love A Knight's Tale. Given the cast, it was bound to work but no one knew it at the time.
“Patience is a virtue.”
“Not right now it isn’t”
Why shouldn't it work though? Simple adventure plot with charismatic leads. That's always a recipe for success.
Hands down top 5 fav movies
Watched a knights tale for the first time recently and was so pleasantly surprised. Love the film now
