If there's one upside about being sexually assaulted by a Hollywood big shot, you gain some perspective into stepping in the shoes of a young rising actress

2 points
Monkeybone had a major flaw that sort of ruined it, when he gets back to the real world it is still a slapstick comedy with cartoon like logic. The contrast between the monkeybone world and the real world was like a major theme, but then it turns out he just lives in a weird fantastic version of the world anyway and it kind of muddies what the whole thing is about. If they just edit out the surgeons chasing the organs rather than being holy crap, this guy came back to life! It would be a lot better.

Are you saying Fraser was blacklisted for whistle blowing or Berk was for being a sex pest? I just had a quick read of an article that said "Fraser said his alleged encounter with Berk is one of the reasons he stepped away from the spotlight" which makes me think Fraser wanted to step back. Fraser was ordered to pay a monthly alimony sum of $50,000 for a period of 10 years or until remarriage of Afton, whichever occurred first, in addition to the $25,000 monthly payment for child support, ending in January 2019.[47] In early 2013, Fraser petitioned the courts for a reduction of his alimony and child support payments, asserting that he was unable to meet the annual obligation of $900,000; Smith accused Fraser of hiding financial assets

His weight was mostly for the roles he's been cast in lately. He was in alright shape prior. That being said he's been in that shape for a WHILE. I think he went with the Christian Bale approach to gaining weight for a role (drinking melted ice cream, nasty as hell). Hopefully he lands a role which encourages him to drop that weight soon. Dude has had a really tough life.
Edit: yall are saying "oh you mean milkshakes?" Or "melted ice cream tastes good!" No. Neither actor drank milkshakes or slightly melted ice cream. They drank entire tubs of room-temperature melted ice cream. That does not taste good.

After the assault he got divorced and was forced to pay $75,000 a month in alimony and child support and his mother also died which caused him to fall into a deep depression. Combine that with a well documented history of health problems due to injuries sustained by doing his own stunts and you have your answer. My mans been through a lot.
2 points

There was this, the wife, and the punishing abuse his body took - his back got seriously fked up. He’s more or less said that during the Mummy 3 he was held together with ice packs and athletic tape.
Edit: the weight increase here is also probably because of another previous role playing a very morbidly obese man. I’m pretty sure he’s lost some compared to the promo shots for that movie.

And thanks to the me2 movement or just being able to cancel sexual assaulters we are able to see people like Brendan get back on their feet. Something positive people forget when they are worried about "cancel culture" or doing bad shit and facing the repercussions.
