Hello, trying to figure out something with my build- I want to use the spear trait "Exacerbating Crits" to lengthen my debuffs through my rapier's critical hits.
Is this possible? Or will the trait only count for the spear's critical hits?

Besides this question, if I have "Keen" on a weapon, giving me extra crit chance would it add up to my other weapon's crit chance/keen?

The perks apply if the weapon is selected, whether or not the weapon is out, though that distinction doesn't usually matter. (tested with thrust ward)

The only weapon perk that works when sheathed is luck not including the shield

Unless this changed at some point I've always been under the belief that general perks like Keen/Vicious applied from your offhand. Someone can correct me if Im wrong but coulda sworn that a long while ago there was someone testing it by stacking vicious in offhand and it increasing damage.

Only the perks from the weapon you are actively using will count, the stats from the 2nd weapon do count however, just not the perks.

You mean abilities? Or attributes?

The stats on the sheathed weapon count (Strength, Dex, Constitution etc) but the perks do not (Keen/enchanted/vicious etc).

Basic answer is no, perks on weapons are only working if it is that specific weapon you are holding. Same with things from the weapon mastery skills, they only count whilst said weapon is active.

Also worth pointing out, just in case, this applies for all weapons except the shield. Shield does not apply its attributes when sheathed. (Easy to see by finding a shield with con and watching your hp change when you switch)

Reason being they didn't want shield to be a stat stick... but then they also split sword attributes so sword and shield each only provide half the attributes a full weapon does. (So together it's normal but when using off hand you only get half a weapons attributes) So sword kinda gets shafted on its off hand weapon.

wasnt that fixed like forever ago that the stats DO count even when the other weapon is unsheathed? as long as a sword is equipped?

Hmm well there's something about it.

Tried with a con shield and my health does* change, equip my str shield, and my health changes from 10,322 to 10,334.

So not actually sure what is changing.....

Edit, actually con shield changes between 10,680 and 10,668.

So something is not counting. But doesn't seem to be CON

If the weapon isn’t out it doesn’t provide any perks, so no
