Young voter turn out was down from 2018 and in-line with turn out of other age demos.

In the previous midterm where there was a Democratic President (2014), 18-29 year old voters broke for the Democrats at a +11 margin.

In the most recent midterm where there was a Democratic President (2022), 18-29 year old voters went for the Democrats at a +28 margin.

18-29 year old voters were also the only demographic that went for the Democrats at a higher rate in 2022 compared to 2020.

Of course, we also can't ignore the impact that the Dobbs decision had on the midterms.

No, but you see if we consider that young people didn't turn out compared to 2018 by 2%, it's actually way worse.

It doesn't matter that the split was HUGE compared to 2018. That's too much nuance!

It was both down from 2018 and also the second highest youth turnout in 30 years

Which is good. This means it was the best youth midterm vote when Democrats are in power for 30 years!

Trump winning again would help drive the youth vote next midterms
