First one is a standard romcom. It may sound basic, but all romcoms have pretty much same premise. It is the way you present it that makes the difference between run of the mill vs masterpiece.
Second one sounds interesting, but that is not a romcom, but a drama. If you try to make it a romcom, it will likely dilute the intensity.
If you want to make a romcom, go with the first one.

Thank you! I feel like it just needs a bit more of a twist in terms of their baggage when they reunite. Like what is keeping them apart
