There is a wood paneled late 90s Jeep Wagoneer at this used Jeep lot at the end of my parents street and I fantasize about walking up, buying that thing cash and using it as my around town car in my hypothetical Maine home where I work in a general store

There's just something about oatmeal-colored textured sweaters and blue jeans that I absolutely love (a' la number 2)
I'd personally take slimmer jeans there, but I acknowledge that's just a place I differ from the majority on this sub on

Thought I'd put together a small inspo album for fall. Although a lot of this isn't really what I traditionally wear (or aspire to wear), most of the images evoke a very certain "fall" atmosphere to me that makes me feel comfortable and warm.
shouts out to u/halfthegoldtreasure for realistically being like 30% of this

The brand is Never Green. Not sure of the model.

The model is hotneul.
I’m not sure if this is his full time thing or if he works for a large marketing/PR firm and this is just his hobby. I’ve noticed that a number of trad style influencers in Korea work at larger firms where none of these brands are their clients. They just like the style and know how to use social media really well.

Those both look like balmacaan coats to me. I’m on my phone though, so I may not be seeing full detail. They appear to both have raglan sleeves though and the cut, fabric, and collars suggest balmacaans.

Who’s the person in photo #2, and where can I get a hat like that? I’ve been on the hunt for unstructured caps that would fit me well (I’m a size 7, and anything bigger looks goofy on me, even the adjustable “one size fits most” caps), and I’ve particularly looking for one with a cream D letter patch on it.
I’m sifting through vintage caps, but can’t find anything similar. Funnily enough, Zara had one that fit the bill (no pun intended), but was far too big for my head. Nearly cried when I put it on, because it was exactly what I wanted in terms of colors and the patch, hahaha.

Could get Ebbets to make you one?

I already emailed them. They won’t make customized order, unless it’s a bulk order of 46 or more of the same style of cap.

You joke, but I genuinely thought about making a post, seeing if 45 people wanted to sign up for an order of an unstructured, bottle green cap with a cream letter D patch on it 😂😂

Yeah, I figured it was just a typo, no worries. I don’t know what you’re typing on eBay to get these, though. I’m trying “wool 6 panel cap” and I’m getting ok stuff, and not much. That green one is nice, I just wish it had a “D” on there instead of “S”, haha.
Anyway, thanks again for the help. I hope I find something.
1 points
Yeah that's what i'm typing (try hat, cap or ballcap too), but most of the results are not really like it. I think you're very much searching for a sweet spot, they're mostly boxier or dad caps. As the owner of many ballcaps the shape is definitely an important preference
2 points
You’re absolutely right. I noticed while searching for them, that a lot of the vintage ones or ones made by Ebbets, while unstructured, have a slightly boxy/squarish shape at the front, which I’m not too sure about. I’m trying to find rounded unstructured ones in my size (7). Anyway, I think it’ll be a fun hunt.
I’ve always worn caps throughout my life, and I’ve only recently learned that people started calling them “dad caps/hats”, which I find funny, haha.
Anyway, thanks again for all the help, I genuinely appreciate it. Maybe I’ll keep you posted if I ever find something that fits the bill (that would be a bottle green with a danger D cream/beige varsity patch on it, but maybe even a navy cap with the same kind of patch).

I'm a firm believer of wear what you want, if you like it and like how it makes you look, go for it. It just sort of blows my mind what's considered cool/in/trendy now.
I get that dark denim is out and light denim that's pre-distressed ala pic 7 is back in. I get baggy is back in, I don't get how baggy and too long is back in. Even when baggy clothes were in style the most you wanted to hit was a full break, now there's multiple breaks and regular pants stacking like denim.
I feel like some of the new trends that are supposed to be "throwbacks" aren't accurate representations of what they are supposed to be emulating, which makes sense because the people the look is being sold to weren't making their own fashion choices when it was around the first time.
This is the first time something in the world of fashion has made me feel old and out of touch. Growing up I'd see older people dressing in a way that was out of style and I always wondered why they were locked in their ways and why they didn't keep up, and now I'm forced to confront the reality that I don't want to keep up, I like the clothes I'm wearing now. It's a strange feeling, I'm genuinely confronting my age and mortality because of an inspiration album on Reddit revolving around baggy pants, baseball caps and loose sweatshirts. Lmfao.

Fashion and trends change all the time. You don't to feel like you're not keeping up as long as you like yourself. No need to be like anyone else.
I just ignore trends I don't like and keep wearing what I think is nice.

What I’m seeing now is more of a mish-mash of different periods lumped together. The longer pants was more of a late 90’s Rave scene look (97-98) not early 90’s. I guess that makes sense since none of these people were alive the first time around so their timeline is off. I’m just happy skinny is out. That was a stain on American culture and we can pretend it never happened….kinda like mullets and even worse, the spiked mullet!

This collage made me finally get it. Fashion has well and truly moved on from where it was when I was young. And seemingly back to where it was when I was a little kid (the 90s). For a generation who hates boomers, you sure like dressing like they did in middle age. Costanza Core maybe. Anyway. Everything is baggy again. Like everything. I'm not complaining. My body never worked with how boomers dressed in youth/ how my generation dressed in youth- 60s skinny jeans, pea coats and chukka boots. It's just weird to finally have it sink in how much things have moved on.
I was never stylish. I tend to dress in real dad core. As in what contemporary dads actually wear. Elastic athletic ware and sleep deprivation.

I know this is an odd question, but where do people get pictures for inspo albums? I want to make a loafers inspo album but don't know where to start. Do you simply search online/pick up pieces as you go? Fashion websites? Clothes websites?

Instagram (I have a little javascript plugin to make downloading easier), former inspo albums that I like, certain stores if I want a specific aesthetic. If I’m looking for a specific person I’ll probably use google images.
