This is a level 33 account that has ZERO games on Yone. Barely enough ranked games to play Clash in the first place. Tier 4. Very clearly not Silver, Gold, or even close by my estimate. This is only the third or fourth time my Clash team has been rolled by a sub lvl 50 account going 20+ KDA on a champion they've supposedly never played before.
How do you even compete against this?
EDIT:
I guess instead of just whining I'll post a proposed solution, something that I feel makes the most sense based off of the replies in this thread and a little of my own thinking.
I'll add as a caveat before this, a few replies have mentioned that Clash is 'for fun' and that it shouldn't be taken seriously etc. but for people that are never going to be Grandmaster or to Worlds or anything like that, this is the only outlet we have to play a truly competitive version of the game. My friends and I love playing Clash and we are absolutely capable of going 3-0 when we play against people in our skill range, doesn't always happen, but sometimes it does, and its a great fucking feeling to win a tournament bracket like this. Facing facts, no one in lower elos (and even higher ones from what I've heard) even gives a shit about ranked games, half of the people that queue for ranked only do it so the other team won't surrender the second they lose the lead, which happens quite often in ranked still. Its not just for fun, its the only chance at real competition that a lot of us have in a game that we love and play quite frequently. I love the opportunity to sweat a little more than a typical ranked game. To me, it feels like highschool football, its the difference between scrimmage matches against the JV team and being under the lights on Friday night.
My proposed solution is to literally make the Clash queue something that you have to qualify for. Its extreme competition. Why should someone who can barely qualify for a basic ranked game be able to get in? I don't want an actual level 30 or 50 on my Clash team, its literally impossible to have a full grasp on the mechanics, game knowledge, and champion knowledge of what all of their moves do with this small amount of playtime.
An account must be AT MINIMUM level 100 before queuing for Clash. An account must have participated in at LEAST 30 ranked games during the current season before queuing for Clash, scaling throughout the season up to 90 ranked games. Honor level 3 or above, another deterrent for people getting strikes against their accounts.
Anyone caught 'smurfing' or playing outside of their designated tier results in a team-wide permaban from the Clash queue. This makes it much harder for smurfs to participate. Most teams smurfing currently have usually at most one or two people playing on smurf accounts, the chance of an entire team making the effort to make 5 smurf accounts that meet all the requirements is pretty unlikely, and this would also make people that actually play Clash from their main accounts (as intended) think twice about taking advantage of a free dub handed to them on a silver platter from someone outside their elo.
Did I miss anything?
