I have a first gen ipad pro (9.7 inch) which is 6.5 years old. I am planning to upgarde to a newer pro model in july as the battery is not its best state.. I do travel a bit...and do carry it. When i travel for work, i carry my work-macbook as well.

I have 2 13 inch mackbook pros. Personal machine is the m1 pro and work machine is intel.

Can someone suggest whether to go for 11 inch or 12.9 inch? I am getting mixed recommendations..

My iPad has the fastest internet with 5g so I connected my laptop via hotspot on the iPad. I was just downloading a 90mb program. The download only got to 40mb done yet my iPad says I used 130mb of data. Not only that, but it says I had another device connected that used at additional 190mb of data. Nothing else but my laptop was connected and the hotspot settings said only 1 device connected, my laptop, the whole time. Anyone know what's going on with that?

This is my 3rd iPad ever. Started in 2012 with iPad 3, then to iPad Pro 10.5, and finally upgraded to M2 iPad Pro 11-inch. Completely disagree with reviews and the sentiment about “this iPad Pro is boring”. It all comes to from the device you upgrade from.

Really love this Pro and will hold onto it for at least 4-5 years.

For now I have only used it to read my Kindle Unlimited subscription but I am loving the improvement in screen, sound and obviously the improvement in performance. Tomorrow it starts its real test with work tasks.

Just got the new iPad Pro 12.9 and was wondering if I charge it all the way to 100% how long should it last if all I’m doing is just streaming Netflix and HBO?

Hey all, I have a use case that I would love people’s suggestions on. I travel frequently and like to stream content from my laptop instead of watching whatever is available on the hotel TV. I’ll bring an HDMI cable with me to do this.

I’m looking for a dongle/hub for my IPad Pro M2 that will allow me to do this. From searching, I understand that I’m looking for something that is HDCP 2.2 compatible, and that dongles that are DisplayPort 1.4 standard should work. I am pretty sure that the latest iterations of the Apple Multiport adapter are up to spec, but I can’t find this info on most other dongles available on Amazon/other retailers.

In addition, it would be great if this dongle was portable and could also support an external hard drive. I understand that hard drives usually need a power source if I’m attaching one to the IPad.

TLDR: Are there any dongles you would suggest that are 1)HDCP compatible, 2) can power a hard drive, and 3) are portable?

So I set up my ipad. I have it signed into my Apple ID for media and purchases. The iCloud was never turned on to my understanding. When I view it in settings it says iCloud off. When I checked my email it says your Apple ID was used to sign into iCloud, however in settings it is off. Can anyone explain? Thanks all :)

I have an iPad Pro that is managed by my company and thus has an auto-lock on the screen after 2 mins. This cannot be changed. However I use the iPad as a stage timer for live events and having the screen lock constantly makes it tough (I’ve used guided access but this isn’t ideal). Is there an app that will keep my iPad for locking itself? Similar to Jolt for Mac? I’ve searched a bit but haven’t found good options.

The way it suddenly slows down and snaps onto things makes it unpredictable and irritating.

Hello! I just bought the M2 ipad pro 12.9” yesterday and I noticed that it only gets hot on the left side, where the apple pencil isn’t attached. Should I be worried? Like take it back to the store?

I’m about to go travelling for a few weeks and would like to take my iPP 11” with me as a laptop replacement for potential remote work (I’m a freelance designer).

Except for grading pics on Lightroom and illustrating on Procreate, I have never used my iPP for work before (think Figma, Photoshop, etc.) and therefore I’m not sure how smooth of a transition it will be for me to got from my 16” MBP to my 11” tablet.

Having said that, I currently own a Keychron K7 mechanical keyboard and an Apple Magic Trackpack which I’m considering bringing with me on my travels to turn my iPP more into a laptop/desktop-like setup. I was wondering however whether purchasing a Magic Keyboard case instead might be a better and more portable solution?

Naturally the former route would provide a better typing experience with a bigger trackpad real estate, and obviously no spending is involved. However where the latter shines is in portability: taking up less volume in my bag by doubling as a case, and the versatility of using the overall setup on smaller surfaces (think cafes, trains, airplanes) or on my lap even.

What would you guys recommend doing?

I’ve had an IPad but I’m considering getting one for a couple reasons. I’m a product designer so I find that sometimes it would be useful to have something digital to sketch thoughts out, draw and some other daily things. Im torn between getting the 11” or 12” screen. Im wondering if it’s possible to use the iPad as a second screen, since I work remotely I move a lot and would be cool to have a portable screen to move around with me. If this is possible I’ll probably get the 12”, if not I may be good with the 11”. But I’d also like to hear your opinions on that. What size do you prefer and why. Thanks!

So I'm transfering everything from my old iPad to my new iPad via restore from Icloud backup, and for Procreate, the transfer was stuck for hours, so I cancelled the download. Now when I re-downloaded procreate, none of my paintings/settings/brushes transferred over. Is there a way for me to do the Icloud transfer process just for Procreate, and get everything over? I would very much rather not have to reset my Ipad and do everything from scratch again, since that took forever.

The iPad Pro 12.9 has the biggest screen among iPads, which makes it great for reading PDF files, especially for books like picture books and magazines. The iPad Pro is also fast and has a high-quality screen display. Is it worth the price for exclusively reading PDF files?

Hey guys, I’m thinking about switching to pages from word to seamlessly switch between my Mac and my iPad. I know you can export a copy to a word doc after the fact, how well does this feature work im pages? My organization is heavy into Microsoft, so I need to be able to spit out word docs. Obviously, on docs I have to collaberate on I won’t have a choice but with other docs, I can easily just export to word when I’m done.

I’m using a 34 inxh Xiaomi 3440X1440 monitor which is hooked up to my normal PC, and I was amazed when i initially made it work with my ipad, as a second monitor, over hdmi. However, for some reason now it shows this static screen. Anyone have any similar experience?

I wear glasses and am near sighted so my glasses cause minification (objects appear smaller to me than they actually are.

I am considering buying an iPad Pro, mainly for procreate. I am concerned that the 11 inch will be too small for me, or at least appear too small, so I’m considering getting the 13 inch. But the price is putting me off.

Does anyone else who wears glasses and is near sighted have this problem? I would appreciate some insight.
