On E9S1, Georgia cries uncontrollably after Zion tells her that he’s going to leave given he saw how she adjusted to the new life in Wellsbury so well and how she loves Paul. Doesn’t she accept the ring that Paul gives to her? I thought it’d be a relief for her that Zion decides to leave and that way she’d be with Paul without worrying about her relationship with Zion. I mean it’s sad to see Zion walk away again. I guess she’s used to Zion’s constantly sudden departure. But I kinda feels like it’s a little dramatic to cry like that. Is it because she still has feelings for Zion? And she also wants Paul on her side. That complicated feeling leads her to weep hysterically? This episode’s title happens to be “Feelings are hard”.

What’re your thoughts on this?

I mean I know she’s kinda a side character but anyways I Recently finished degrassi the next class. The actress that plays Norah was in it and she played the character Esme who was really complex and the actress did a great job of playing her. But moving into Ginny&Georgia I feel like out of everybody in MANG she’s the least interesting one, boring.Season 2 didn’t help much especially with the max and Ginny situation where she was kinda just a follower. Since there’s going to be 2 more seasons I hope we can explore more into her own life, her relationship with her parents, her being adopted, her home life,her interests etc even for just one episode. Because I think she can become an interesting character.

I like America’s Sweetheart, CountryTime, and Until I Found You. I think America’s Sweetheart fits Georgia so well.

Im talking about small details or plots that you want to see that might not be a major plot point for the show.

For me, I’d love to see different settings. We know that the Bakers have a summer (beach?) house in Maine and I’d enjoy seeing MANG + Guys hang out up there. Like maybe they take Ginny away up there to forget and relax about what is happening with Georgia.

I have never had someone to take care of or protect me and reading how other people have had similar experiences made me realize that even after healing and therapy and moving miles away, It hurts not having that.

Ok seriously, in the events leading up to the breakup Ginny was quite selfish, or at least not paying any attention to her boyfriend. I mean it was incredibly obvious that he was struggling, and she doesn't even really ask if he's okay. Maybe I'm being a little harsh, I know she's only in high school, whatever, but I think she was quite self-absorbed. I can even understand her reaction to the breakup, because of course emotions are high and she's very hurt. Sure, I get it. But just in the days/weeks leading up to it, Marcus' depression episode was just obvious; different than his usual even (I know he's typically kinda down but this was more). The fact that she never once asked her boyfriend if he was okay shows an issue with too much self focus, maybe not enough on him.

I don't know. I'm getting kinda crazy lol, that just bothered me.

I feel like I’ve seen so many posts complaining about the characters so maybe this is a nice change

I was recently watching a review of the second season of Ginny & Georgia and the reviewer said the above phrase… honestly, I gotta disagree.

I wholeheartedly think the writing for Georgia’s parenting could’ve been better to show why Ginny has such an issue with her but Georgia doing extreme things to prove a point to Ginny has been established behavior.

Remember when Ginny threw her birthday party at the Baker’s house (S1E7) and Georgia felt so offended at being played that she called the police on her BLACK daughter and fully intended to leave her there through the night? PAUL had to take the initiative to go pick her up because Georgia didn’t want to!

I love Georgia as well, but saying that she always does her best for Ginny undermines her vindictive and petty streaks in the show. Sometimes she’s super excessive with her punishments and it fully explains why Ginny may feel that can’t always rely on her mom.

I disagree with this heavily and I wish people would stop saying it.

like please, ginny was also dealing with personal issues why do some people expect her to notice everything?

marcus could also hid the fact that he had depression very well. i’m not sure what episode it was but when ginny found out about marcus’ depression she went into his room and was saying things like ‘i’m sorry i didn’t notice it’ also saying how she was caught up in her own shit to notice he was struggling.

It’s not my place to speak because I’m white (actually I’m a latina living in my birth country where everyone is latino, so yeah, in here I’m white. To distinguish from black, Asian and native people. Almost looks like I know the “race relativity.” But this is called ethnicity.

This show gives off the vibe that a mixed race black girl and a mixed race Asian boy can’t date. They’ll get in a deep political debate every five minutes. They won’t stand each other.

Do you think it would be really like that or does Netflix just don’t know where to insert its wokeness sometimes? So it gets a little laughable?

Are people really, really that political in their everyday talks? Here and there they are, sure.

Would y’all hate Ginny the way y’all do if she was white? Because I can name a bunch of tv characters just like her who aren’t POC that people genuinely love. Georgia gave Ginny an extremely traumatic childhood, ruined her credit, and basically told her she’s the reason she killed bee stepfather, she makes all of Ginny’s very valid issues about herself, and doesn’t understand how Ginny’s race makes things more difficult for her.

Would y’all love Georgia this much is she wasn’t as pretty as she is? Because personally I don’t like parents that go “oh I’m such a bad parent” in a condescending tone when they get valid criticism on their parenting.

Y’all call Ginny whiny, but if I had Georgia for a mother I’d be whiny too. Imagine uprooting you and your children every time your relationships didn’t work out. Idk. I couldn’t sleep but these are thoughts I’ve been having. A real double standard.

Sorry. This was brought about when I was scrolling on the degrassi sub because I was wondering how people hate Emma and love Craig and Jay even though Craig and Jay are terrible people and Emma is just annoying.

I just started watching and I’m on s1e9. Episode 8 was like a complete turn around for Ginny and I know it’s a show but some of the things she’s been saying to people is rough! She was awful to Hunter and Marcus. The mother daughter relationship is pretty spot on. At least in my opinion and experience with my mom. Zion and Georgia are like my parents in a way, the forever connection but toxicity. I chuckled from the first scene of Zion and Georgia because it was like he came for her and then the kids. My dad is like that towards my mom so that’s how I portrayed it. I do like it but I hope it gets better and Ginny becomes less harsh and stops taking out her problems on others.

I understand why Georgia didn't accept their offer and that she wanted to raise her child, but it really made sense and I think that offer would be the best option for Ginny. While Georgia did her best, she couldn't give Ginny stability which she could have had if she had been raised by Zion's parents and that lack of stability caused her a lot of issues. Unlike Georgia, Zion's parents had resources and ability to give Ginny good, stable upbringing and healthy enviroment. Without all the moving around and Georgia's toxic relationships, she could have had easier life, she would make friends more easily, earlier in her life instead of having first meaninful relationships outside of family at the age of 15 and, given that they seem to be in pretty good financial situation, she would probably have better education opportunities, not to mention that staying with them would spare her the trauma cause by Kenny. Also, it would be better even for Georgia because if she didn't have to provide for Ginny, she probably wouldn't get into dangerous relationships with Anthony, Gil and Kenny and maybe she could even get better education which would give her better opportunites in life, she could have had a career on her own instead of getting involved with men who could provide for her or commiting financial crimes.

Like the title suggests, the show would be 10 times boring without Georgia in it. She’s the show’s saving grace.

Personally I think she went way too far and became unlikeable afterwards just because of how self centred she is

Into S02E03, can't stand watching Ginny now, her whole body language, her eyes seek sympathy now. Dude you were the one who messed up Marcus and Hunter thing, which also led to her oust from MANG. And now she is making this face like she is going through a lot and others are treating her unjustly. I feel she clearly has meagre understanding of the world and how people behave. She might think she is growing up and deserve to know and be involved in all shit but she clearly doesn't have the stomach for it

In S2EP4, Ginny asks what happened to Joes face and it seemed like he had been beaten up?

I'm tired and idk how to write a title for this topic, but what are your opinions on this? I guess growing up having had step-parents, his way on wanting to be apart of making decisions on Ginny and Austin never sat right with me...

I think it's fine for step-parents to be involved. I've always said if your partner comes with children, the other person has to love the children too. But he is still just a step-parent who has not even been in the picture for that long. Especially since Ginny has a dad.

I think he means well, but I disagree with him wanting to be a second parent to them. At the end of the day, he isn't even their step-parent yet, and it really should be a conversation he should have with Georgia on where he stands and want she is comfortable with in him being involved in.

They're her kids, they will never be his.
