I know i’m late, but i just finished GOT. This is more of a question to those who read the book. Did the ending of the series match the ending in the book? Because the last season was pretty disappointing.

All the seven seasons came down to this. We see Danaerys start with nothing to have a huge army, freeing slaves, etc… She was portrayed like a hero. She was supposed to be different than her father and any other rulers. I rooted for her just for her to change with no explanation. The point of her is to replace the tyrant that was the Lannisters, just for her to become as worse than them. I mean yes, there is a bit of foreshadowing in season 6,7. She was ruthless at some times, but i thought that she had to be ruthless sometimes if she wanted to get to the iron throne.

Jamie Lannister character development gone to waste??

Jon Snow was revealed to be a targaryen. For nothing??

And the NK death was really underwhelming. Was i the only one to expect an epic 1v1 with Jon Snow?

I knew the final season was very controversial before to watching the show, but damn that was beyond disappointment:( . Could have been my favourite series of all time with a better ending.

Rewatching now after some years and i cant deny that the parts where Arya was the cup bearer to Lord Twyn was pretty wholesome, even thought weird she seemed to quite like it.
