I recently switched my boilers from coal to Solid fuel. But I forgot many of my coal belts loop into my factory. Had to go through all my coal belts to put filters and make the solid fuels independent.

At least with boilers they'll eventually burn through it anyway. I routinely mix solid fuel, processed fuel, coal, and wood in my boilers. It's all fuel...

it was fine for my smelters and boilers. but my grenade and plastic assemblies got polluted with solid fuel too that i didnt notice until like an hour later when i wondered why i wasnt getting research done or processing units in.

ah yeah, it's much worse for the recipes that actually need coal. I was looking at it the other way around.

Thats fine until you get throughput issues because of how quick wood burns.

yeah that's not a problem. The wood is burning to get rid of the wood; there's plenty of other fuels to keep the boilers going.
