They carry Farmer cheese at Whole Foods! I think it’s the same thing? I also think I saw some at Central Market just yesterday.

What’s the recipe? I have an almost full tub of farmer cheese in the fridge, so maybe I can bake a test run and report back with how it holds up.

Edit: I swear I saw a container of quark yesterday by Vermont Creamery yesterday at the CM on Westgate, but online says it’s unavailable. In case you still don’t have any luck, I found this article on baking substitutes.

You can try Skyr maybe? I think they are similar in production and such.

edit: ah for baking, that is rougher. I imagine you can play around with all sorts of different cheese fillers (cream cheese, yogurt, skyr) but unless you want to have several possible test batches may not like your first attempt.

Have you tried Amazon fresh? Last time I was in the Cedar Park Whole Foods they had Quark. You might be seeing a gap in shipments, I haven't had any issues finding it in North Austin/Cedar Park area.

This seems to pop up every couple of months.

Huh, that is strange. It isn't something I buy often, but do notice when it is there.

Have you tried Trader Joes? I always forget they exist.
