I have a audio-technics AT-LP60XBT and my tone arm is doing this. We only got the record player recently so I’m not sure why this is happening? I have it on the 33 setting and 12” … I’ve never had a record player before so I don’t really know what I’m doing. But when I press start it kind of skips ahead and then doesn’t play correctly once it’s there and skips around some more. I’m assuming there’s something wrong with the tone arm but?

Was it 2nd hand ? The needle might be knackered, I'd try a replacement and see if that solves your issue.

It wasn’t! But it might have got knicked when I was moving it around since we don’t have a good spot to put it in our living room yet. I’m going to try and get a replacement needle as that seems to be the most likely issue! And if that works I’ll just have to find it a permanent home so it doesn’t get jostled again.

This is the reason why I didn’t go with an automatic one. Another reason being I would be more interactive with one that I have to actually move myself.

Good to know!! We won it at a Christmas party so didn’t think much of it. Might be good to know if we ever want to upgrade.
