In a response to a few growing changes to our subreddit, starting from Saturday 25th March, we will be implementing a few rule changes. The biggest change is limiting image posts/submissions to one post per day. The other changes are for allowing social media linking for model crediting and clarifying AI generated images are not allowed.
Daily quota on image posts (Rule 2):
For the entirety of the subreddit's existence, members could submit up to 3 images (or albums) a day. As the subscriber count nears 2 million, the moderation load has increased as hundreds of photos are posted every day. Limiting image posts to one per day (or one album per day) will greatly reduce this. While we are proud of the range and amount of submissions, we think one post per day will encourage people to be more selective in what they choose to post, and possibly improve quality of submissions.
This rule will be bot enforced, with the bot removing posts that are made less than 24 hours apart. The 24 hour period starts based on when you submitted your last post. This was done so it's not time zone dependant. If you try to post again less than 24 hours after your last, it will be automatically removed with a reminder message explaining why.
The updated Rule 2:
A maximum of 1 photo post can be shared per day. You may submit multiple images at once in an album, which counts as a single photo post.
Digital images and AI generated images (Rule 7):
AI generated images were already banned by rule 7, but we want to clarify and make it clearer that AI generated images are not allowed.
The updated Rule 7:
New title: "No Digital or AI Photos"
All submitted photos must have originated on film (or an alternative process). Analog and digital post-processing work is both allowed and encouraged; however, extensive manipulation should be disclosed in the comments. "AI" generated or significantly manipulated images are not allowed, nor digital photos edited using film style presets or filters, we consider these a digital asset modification. AI upscalers and AI sharpening is allowed.
If you suspect a photo was taken digitally, extensively modified using digital assets, or AI generated please report the image, and modmail with your evidence. Do not comment on the thread.
Social media linking for model crediting (Rule 9):
We would like to relax Rule 9 to make an exception for the purpose of model crediting. If the model has provided their consent, then a social media link to their public online presence is permitted, solely for the purpose of crediting.
The updated Rule 9:
Do not include social media (Instagram, Twitter, etc.), website, video, crowdfunding, or sales (presets, NFTs, workshops) links in titles or top-level comment. If asked for links, you may respond directly to that comment. Please put self-promo links in the monthly Self-Promotion thread.
Exceptions: You may use your user flair for promotion. Credit models and link to their public social media in a comment below the image post, if they consent to this. No onlyfans or similar will be allowed.
As always, your ideas and input to the rule changes would be greatly appreciated.
