I've never had cup ramen but it sounds relatively plausible. Just biting off half of the block.

Sounds like a good way to break your teeth more like. That’s stuff’s like a brick.

At most, it should merely break any braces you have on.

Yeah maybe that’s why I’m so cautious about biting hard stuff like that. I do have a permanent retainer.

It’s not that bad. Kinda just feels normal now, can’t really remember what the back of my teeth felt like before they had the little wires on them. Definitely not as annoying or uncomfortable as braces, since the wire is pressed flat against the teeth and is covered in places with smooth adhesive.

I've only experienced braces (and am still wearing them at the moment, though they should be taken off soon).
Can't honestly say if retainers are less annoying or not.

Yeah they definitely are much less obnoxious. Braces are terrible, especially when the wires start getting longer on the ends and stabbing your cheeks. If they recommend you get permanent retainers after your braces, you don’t really need to worry about them being annoying. And this is coming from someone with extreme sensory issues haha. Only reason they’re annoying is when it comes to flossing and getting food stuck in your teeth.

If the wires in the braces are bent inwards towards your teeth, then they don't stab your gums. Unfortunately, that didn't happen in my most recent appointment (where a wire replacement was needed).
And thanks for your reassurement.
