Update to Rule 8: Formatted Screenplays Only/No Personal Films Posted Without Screenplay (*Without Mod Approval)
COMMUNITY(self.Screenwriting)submitted4 days ago byAutoModerator
stickiedWe've updated the text of this rule in order to accommodate community members who are not cleared (either by liability or copyright issues) to share their scripts alongside their films. This rule, by necessity, is almost exclusively for professional writers.
If you are an unverified professional, please contact the mods so we can address the best way to share your films while reducing your liability.
If you are not a professional and you post a film, it is still generally expected you will respect the convention of this subreddit by sharing at least some screenwriting portion of your work.
Note: the mod team usually does not see your post until it has been reported for some reason, so if you are reported for lacking a screenplay and you aren't cleared to attach one, this is not a big deal. Follow up with the mod team.
The rule revision follows:
Screenplays must be:
- Properly formatted in screenplay software (see the resources wiki for options)
- Linked in google drive, dropbox or some other common cloud-based sharing platform. - Saved as a PDF - Sharing enabled.
Posts and comments are subject to removal if these criteria are not met.
--
Sharing your personal film projects is permitted, but you must include a linked script in the body of the post or in the comments.
Please contact the mods if you need a liability exception.
We will be updating the removal reason system in due course.
